Oregon

44-26. Good-not overly impressive. Also note that Dakota Prukop was in until the very end. Didn't even feel comfortable bringing in the backup.

Just some food for thought. Virginia is playing a football game at 2am their time right now. Not saying they're the better team but I wonder what the score would be if Oregon had to travel across the country and play at 8am their time.

He looks quite comfortable in that offense tonight.
Isn't the last minute qb defect from N still there ? He was being cute about it in the last year or so - wonder how he feels now. No big deal, just worth a mention; as it may come up this week.

Nebraska has not yet put together a clean and complete game. If we continue that trend against Oregon we will lose.
However, the silver lining is that we are, imo, better than we have shown so far. If we can play "up to" a quality opponent rather than playing down to an inferior one, we can be very good I think.
If Nebraska brings its "A game" I think we win. Riley and this staff would LOVE to stick it to their old nemesis.
I think we will have one of our biggest wins of the past 17 years this Saturday.

It will likely be a bit of a shootout. I think our defense will be okay though.. Banker was saying in the post game presser that the guys are starting to figure out how to play in one on one coverage.

This whole thread is kind of silly. Are we really getting into arguments about Oregon being good, being able to score points, and possibly beat Nebraska??? Well no sh*t. We've all known that Oregon can score points, has great athletes on offense, and is going to be a tough challenge for a long time. Bottom line is that it's hard to know a whole lot about either Nebraska or Oregon at this point. Should be a good game, hopefully Nebraska shows up ready to go. It'll be a good early season challenge for both teams.

Scary FSU Like Speed.
I hate to say it, but I can imagine them out scoring us by 14-21.
I hope I am wrong. Just my gut feeling as of right now after watching us and them back again.
We look really sloppy and I don't see us correcting all the penaltys and the bad decision making in a week. Speed kills. Moore, Ozigbo, Westy, and a couple others seem to have the burst to match up with their raw speed. Problem is they have tons of it.
Wyoming had so many mistakes and dropped balls it wasn't even funny (not to mention NO KICKER). If a team who can execute comes in (which May happen next week) we could be in trouble if we can't stop all the crappy stuff.
Once again, I will be praying we can get it together and get it done. Just Not Sure...

No argument needed, Just an opinion.

Any way you can send this to me?

It's a great opportunity for NU to get a big early-season win (at least it will be perceived as a big win). NU would certainly move into the Top 25, with a chance to move up to the Top 15 before the Wisconsin game.

NU will have a great chance to win if they can keep their mistakes to a minimum. Unfortunately, we see the mistake-prone NU version more often than we see the crisp version.

I was somewhat leisurely watching this game last night and thought Oregon looked pretty good in the first half. Then I noticed that this was the same Virginia team that lost to the Richmond Spiders by 17 last week. So I'm not sure what to make of it anymore. Oregon does seem to have some major issues at the LB spot and struggle stopping the run so I would expect to see alot of zone runs in-between the tackles. Defensively, I think we're going to try to get after their QB and play alot of man. I guess we'll see how it turns out.

Nebraska needs this game. If Huskers want to be taken seriously they need to win. If Nebraska can't win these games the program will never get to B1G championship level. If this coaching staff wants the fan base to stand in unity behind them they have to produce some quality wins like this.

It's not the end of the world if we lose but I'm tired of seeing it more brightly than the light at the end of the winning tunnel.

Huskers win, they need it. I believe the staff and players know how important it is.

I am concerned by their tempo against our D, that already has trouble lining up and their punt returner against our weak punter. On the flip side, I think we can move the ball and put up points on their D.

Wyoming is well coached and they made a heck of an effort. But I would ask, did UCLA have any speed last year ? And it would be fair to say we are greatly improved experience wise in the back Seven ?

Be careful. Don't want to say too much good about us.
I think Utah ran it up on Oregon last year or the year before; so all teams have a " game ". Washington State beat them; Michigan State squeezed by them at home. UCLA was 8-5 last year, Oregon was 9-5; but of course Oregon didn't have to play us in their bowl game. LOL; just having fun; they have great talent and made it big time; getting that qb transfer in..
Will definitely impress the nation if we beat them in any way. Like most of Y'all say, we remember the W when things fade away. GBR

Nebraska has out scored opponents 64-10 in the second half of games this season. Oregon just 42-41.

And before you say well they are just coasting. In the first half of games, 45-13 while Nebraska is 31-17.

Similar level of opponents and Nebraska has out scored opponents 95-27 while Oregon 87-54.

I like Nebraska's chances.

The Utah drubbing was last year. Oregon had 3 losses going into their bowl game when they lost an improbably comeback to TCU in 3OT.

Oregon has impressive offensive talent, but as others have stated, several holes on defense. They have consistently struggled against teams that punish them physically and I hope Nebraska is mindful of that.

Oh, by the way-this same Oregon team gave up 28 points to FCS UC-Davis last week. Anyone want to bet what the reaction would have been on here if we gave up 28 points to an FCS team? But it's OK because it was Oregon that did it. You see, anything bad that an opponent of ours does is all perfectly excusable. People will bend over backwards to make every kind of an excuse for anything our opponent does, but they can't even bear to give us credit for what we do right. It's all about making us look as bad as possible.
The overreaction to Nebraska has much to do with the programs significant dry-spell of success. People are waiting for the shoe to drop, because, it always does. They have been conditioned to think this way. Looking at things as a glass-half-empty guy is a defense mechanism so that when they do get disappointed, it won't hurt as much. They are bracing themselves for the hard punch they think they are about to receive.
