More than a game. Nebraska will be favored in the game and I expect them to win.
So many doom and gloomers on this site, you'd think we were on a different team's site.
The Oregon QB looks like a more fluid, better decision making, version of Tommy.... And to think he was playing in FCS Bozeman last year. I hope he struggles next week and then has a great rest of the season.
Why do you think we'll be favored? They are ranked and are winning easily this week. I'd expect us to be a slight dog.
They play a pretty strong game at Montana.
Wow, Prokup just dropped a beautiful pass over the DB and into the receiver along the sideline. We need to have several of those old 7 minute drives on offense ad keep the ball out of his kid's hands.
How they do against Virginia tells us nothing. They lost by 17 points to FCS Richmond last week. In short, they are awful. People always seem to underestimate where we end up in lines on the games. At home, I think we will be a slight favorite.
At worse the line would could be -1, so that would be a pickem game.
Still think the old "In the Deed The Glory" stadium is worth 3 points.
I dunno...Oregon looks pretty good right now. Virginia may be bad, but so are Fresno State and Wyoming. Oregon isn't waiting until the 4th quarter to put an over-matched team away.
NU will have to improve a lot in the next 6 days to come away with a win. They can't play like clowns for 3 quarters and expect to wear out an inferior team. NU is going to have to play 4 clean quarters next week. Can they do it?

The defense needs to run marathons all week to keep up with Oregon's offense. I think dear old NU will be able to move the ball, but we need 6 minute drives that end in 6. Their offense has been very impressive so far. I'm hoping Virginia really is a terrible team because Oregon looks like a formidable opponent. Huskers will know where they stand 7 days from now that's for sure.
I agree. It's not going to be easy. And Wyoming and Fresno aren't barn burners. But Virginia lost to Richmond by 17 last week. Richmond.
I swear I am not trying to be a dick here, but you seem to forget that this team can win against good teams with 2 good quarters see Michigan St. last year
Tommy is a game changer... He can score quick, and give the game away quick. Nebraska plays clean, we win! It really is all on Tommy's decision making
You know, this is just ridiculous. People have been talking about how truly awful Virginia is and yet people seem to be awed by how they dominate an awful team. So we beat a team that probably at best isn't any worse than Virginia by 35 points, and people are unimpressed. If the opponents were exactly reversed, people would be saying that what we were doing against Virginia didn't mean anything because they are awful. But because it's Oregon that is doing it, it somehow is significant. In other words, do everything you can to run us down and praise our opponents. I just get really sick of this crap.
Oh, by the way-this same Oregon team gave up 28 points to FCS UC-Davis last week. Anyone want to bet what the reaction would have been on here if we gave up 28 points to an FCS team? But it's OK because it was Oregon that did it. You see, anything bad that an opponent of ours does is all perfectly excusable. People will bend over backwards to make every kind of an excuse for anything our opponent does, but they can't even bear to give us credit for what we do right. It's all about making us look as bad as possible.
Never did I run down Nebraska. Oregon will far and away be our toughest opponent so far this season. I think everybody would agree that Nebraska hasn't exactly played a complete game yet, and killing ourselves with penalties like they have so far may be the difference. Oregon is dominating from the get go, not up by a td at half. Nebraska completely wore Wyoming into the ground today (along with Fresno St. last weekend) and I don't think that will happen with Oregon. I don't get how everybody just assumes we are going to crush Oregon. I think we can win, and hoping like hell we do, but to say we are so much better I think is going a bit far.
Wow-what stunning analysis. You're really going out on a limb with that one aren't you? I'm sure there isn't anybody else on here that knew that. And here we were all expecting Fresno State and Wyoming to be better than Oregon. Thanks for letting us know. Just awed by your insight.
And who in the world has said we will crush Oregon anyway? You said "everybody" is just assuming that. I don't know were you've been reading.
No, you're just upset because I won't join in the Oregon lovefest. I'm treating everything they are doing exactly like a lot of people treat what we do. It seems only fair to me.
I could care less what you think of Oregon. Im just going by what I'm observing tonight. A team that is moving the ball, appears to have weapons at every position, and speed to burn. I also think that our offense will be able to move the ball on their D. It will come down to penalties and costly mistakes. Here's hoping the huskers come out on the winning end.
Not impressed with Oregon's defense. But that offense can still put up points in a hurry. They are never out of the game. Should be a fun game to watch.
