Opinion: What is Rhules ceiling?

What do you think Rhules ceiling is?

Over 75% of folks here think we get 10 wins next year against a MUCH more competitive schedule, with no obvious improvement in talent on our roster. Sample size 77, so statistically significant.

Thought the Rhule-aid would’ve been a little diluted by now…

Loony Tunes all up in here.

When do all the portal transfers start, again?

This.

He commented about his good D teams but middle of the pack offenses. Is he going to be willing to fire coaches and upgrade when he gets thr opportunity. Or is he going to be loyal to a fault?

The unknown is he has never stayed anywhere long enough to show any kind of consistency, especially long term. So hiw do we know?

Recruiting is good but not great, way too many 2* kids offered and committed. Why? Especially when you as re well over the limit?
Those 2 star guys are all very fast. Charlie Mc Bride said his coaching acquaintances said last year NUs biggest problem with its roster was a lack of team speed. Rhule is trying to fix that.

You're asking this at the wrong time OP. This off-season will tell a lot about where his ceiling actually is. If he refuses to make changes as far as the coaching staff and upgrading the talent level is concerned, then I don't expect anything to change and his ceiling will be low. If he institutes good changes, then it could be fairly high. Hard to say right now.

They are fast, they are big, they are whatever you want to say. They are two stars and some have one good offer and that is Nebraska. They might all be AA's I have no clue but if we are wanting some results fairly quickly, some of these guys ain't it. I guess I am a little disappointed that we can't seem to pull some higher ranked kids and are offering the 2's.

My ceiling for Rhule @ NU is a Natty. Honestly it’s a Natty. Our programs won 5. It can be done here. For some that knows me on this board, hopefully that’s extremely shocking for me to predict that. But Rhule knows football and is smart. The problem with me with him is his floor is more fire to our dumpster fire. He needs to grow. He needs a no man. Even a HC needs help. One man can’t do it alone. He needs help in the Offensive meeting room.

High expectations are good, for sure. I see his ceiling about like Iowa's record this year. If the schedule is on the weaker side, he might be able to squeak out a 10 win season. My expectations could change if some coaching changes are made on the offensive side of the ball, or if we get a stud RB and QB. Not crossing my fingers on that with no dedicated QB coach and Barthel's recruiting struggles.
