So you think you can dance?
A Raceland man apparently thought he could, and he flew into a rage when an on-again, off-again romantic interest made fun of his moves, Thibodaux police said.
Cole Rodriguez, 34, of Raceland was booked Saturday night with domestic abuse battery, resisting an officer with force or violence and battery of a police officer, according to Thobodaux Chief of Police Bryan Zeringue.
Police said Rodriguez was dancing at a bar when the victim, whom Rodriguez had been in and out of a relationship with for 21 years, began joking about the way Rodriguez was dancing.
Rodriguez took offense and struck the victim multiple times before the victim struck him back, in the face. After bar patrons separated the two, police arrived and took Rodriguez into custody.
While in the rear of the police unit, Rodriguez began kicking the back door and window of the unit while yelling slurs towards the officer, police said.
Once at the jail, Rodriguez kicked an officer and spit bloody saliva on him, police said. He was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $7,500 bond.
