This guy looked the part on several fronts. He was physical. He showed speed. He had some moves.

I don't have any insider access, but considering he was the featured back down the stretch, any chance he gets the start against Wisconsin?

I think Newby can be a decent alternate back, but I think we've seen the staff try to make him the feature and the pop just isn't there.

Any thoughts or knowledge about whether Ozigbo becomes the new feature back?

5.5 yards per carry average. But yeah, let's pass.
OK... I see someone is still a bit angry. Do you have anything to add that specifically addresses the topic about whether he should/will be the featured back against Wisconsin?

Sorry about that. I don't think Ozigbo starts but Newby's leash is shorter than ever.

Shuttle Oz and Andy in and pound Wisconsin into the stone age.

To be honest, at this point I don't mind operating like a pro team at RB. Have OZ be the 1st & 2nd down back with Newby coming in as a 3rd down back. He can still be a threat to run on 3rd down, but has the best pass blocking (supposedly) of the backs. I still think Wilbon needs to be sprinkled in at some point as well. Would love to see Adam Taylor get at least 1 series just to see what he would look like in a game situation.

I think OZ needs to be the featured back against Wisconson. Newby isn't cutting it.

Sooner or later the staff will realize that the BIG isn't a passing league, you must run the ball.

It can't hurt. Wisky will be without their number one WR and TE.

So whoever runs the ball the best should win.

Oz looks like a Big Ten back. Cross is too slow out of the gate, Wilbon has good moves, but is 30 lbs lighter than Oz. hope they move Wilbon to the slot if he has the hands. Newby is okay, but doesn't strike fear into any defense.

Oz looked surprisingly good, against a suspect Illinoi D. However, for a true freshman that was a 2 star out of Texas that no one in Texas wanted is a glimpse of what Riley can do as a recruiter. I think MR finally realizes he may struggle to move the chains with Newby. I still like Newby some as a 3rd down back but think Wilbon should be a better 3rd down back. Not impressed with the team's attitude/motivation. Not too impressed with run blocking by O lIne.

I think OZ looks like Imani Cross 2.0 at 1st glance, based on extremely limited data. Will re-evaluate with more data.

He's wayyyy better than Imani. I wouldn't mention him in that breath. He has decent speed and acceleration, and runs with some authority. Imani hasn't really show any of those except for maybe a little bit of speed when at full power.

Bear in mind he was running against the Illini d, not a really formidable group by any stretch.

Oz showed enough he needs more touches - he at least wiggles for a few more yards after contact and moves the pile with good pad level. He does that better than Cross. Newby is not terrible - but he is not great once he makes contact. Given our oline - Oz seems like a better answer. I thought getting Jano some touches was good - but he is not a feature back. Runs out of 2 back sets - yes. Out of the pistol or shotgun single back.....naw, I want Newby or Oz to get those carries. The biggest issue in the game was low % completion and throwing so many bombs.....I put that on the OC - even if Tommie had check down reads he clearly was sticking to the long ball every time they dialed up a play with that route. OC has to talk to the QB to understand the weather is impacting the throws. Too many drops also....again
