Ohio State vs Notre Dame. Big 10 Champions again

it is the reason why n.d. will be reluctant to ever join the b10 or acc. they get to host a first round game, play in the championship, and bank ten times what conference members do.
Yep, it makes no financial sense for them to join.

Plus they pretty much get to pick and choose who they play, which helps too.

I don't see any SEC fans posting over and over about how much they hate the transfer portal and NIL on this board

just the same people who are sucking off kirk herbstreit's alma mater & beloved conference
Saban, the SEC god, quit over it. Very amusing watching the guy who coached at the school who cheats the most, complaining about paying and re-recruiting players.

In Saban's defense, I think it was deeper than that.

Saban is one of those coaches who relished being a father figure to his players. He also knew he was far and away the best coach and gave these kids the best opportunity to make generational wealth in the NFL. He earned that accolade over the course of nearly 2 decades of dominance, which let the school essentially recruit itself (along with I'm sure a healthy dose of McDonald's bags full of cash)

Being 72, I imagine having to increase his energy output and reprove himself just didn't sound like something he wanted to do at that juncture.

george gibb was paid to play at notre dame as well. we don't discount rockne for it. and he's regarded by many as the greatest coach of all time.

I don't know why it's so hard for certain people to comprehend. I want what's best for NEBRASKA. And that is playing in the Big 10. The best and most profitable conference in the country. Big 12 is a bunch of nobodies making chump change. Fvck the SEC. Period. End of discussion.
Agree and that $100 million TV payout that Nebraska will get from the Big Ten sure doesn't hurt. Smart move by Nebraska to get in the B1G. Your former Big 12 is like a minor league now

Yup. This is an article from last year. I'm sure it's more now. Anyone who thinks we need to go back N time to the watered down Big 12 needs their head examined.
The Big Ten held a narrow edge over the Southeastern Conference in revenue for the second straight year and the Atlantic Coast Conference again ranked a distant third among the five largest college sports conferences, according to tax filings released this week.
Big Ten reporting revenue of $879.9 million compared with $852.6 million for the SEC.
The Big 12 was fifth at $510.7 million.

Saban followed whatever the NCAA allowed? Lol. Bama is the king of under the table payments.

The fact that all of the old Big 12 schools sucked up to the evil empire Texass only for UTerus to leave them at the altar to bail for more money in the $EC makes it all the more glorious. RollingLaugh Sick

it's noteworthy only to you. most b12 fans are glad to get rid of the arrogant whorns.

I bet. But I'm sure the Big 12 bosses miss the money, history, fans and clout the 2 blue bloods OU and Texass brought to the Big 12.
losing ou is another matter. most miss the sooners, bedlam, and all that. but not texas. enough already of texas.

Those POS losers got exactly what they deserved. They sold their souls mortgaged their future to take down big bad Nebraska. Congrats losers, none of you will ever win a NC again, hope it was worth it…

Jesus H. Christ. Read HBK4life's attached article. Yes, ND takes home a bigger NC game payout than each B1G team but in the total picture, the total revenue for each B1G team is - right now - $60 million for each B1G member compared to $22 million for ND. Plus, if the B1G and SEC decide to quit scheduling ND, they're sunk.

I know a couple of ND administrators that fully recognize that they'll need to join a conference in football in the near future for survival - just a matter of time

He’s not talking about now. Hind sight is 20/20 and y’all are reaping your poor decisions made 30 years ago. Y’all voted with Texas to cripple Nebraska, now you’re getting what you deserve. Back to the slums poor…

Ironic cause we haven’t won a NC in over 20 years? 🤣 At least we have, and that’s a lot better indicator of the future than anything k-state has. (or will ever have) You don’t understand irony do you? Point is if you’re not in the B1G or SEC (maybe a couple teams in the ACC, but unlikely) you don’t have a chance (resources/competition level) to win a NC. You may not want to admit it, but you know that nobody in the Big XII will ever win a NC under the current makeup. Zero chance.

He has to play @ Michigan next year and they could be a lot better if they find a QB. How weird would it be if he lost to Michigan again next year, but makes the playoffs again. 🥴 Bizarro world…
Michigan's strength this year was their rock solid defense and they lose their stars off that unit to the NFL draft.
