Let’s breakdown where each prospect is in their recruitment.

4-star OT commit Turner Corcoran‍ (Lawrence, Kansas)

This will be the second game-day visit of the season for Corcoran who will be a fixture on the sidelines this season. He is using his official visit for this game which is notable because he is one of Nebraska’s most willing peer recruiters. The commit has been looking forward to this big game for quite some time now.

3-star QB commit Logan Smothers‍ (Muscle Shoals, Alabama)

Smothers is Nebraska’s longest standing commitment. He joined the 2020 recruiting class on July 26, 2018. Still, this is his first actual Husker game. He will be on his official visit this weekend. The huge weekend will be another big reminder for Smothers of why he picked Nebraska. He will also have his peer recruiting hat on.

4-star OLB Jackson Bratton‍ (Alabama commit) (Muscle Shoals, Alabama)

Bratton is perhaps the most intriguing official visitor of the season. Despite being an Alabama commit from the state of Alabama, this visit has long been planned. Bratton is as good of a high school linebacker as I’ve evaluated on film in this job. This is not a free trip for fun. Bratton is seriously evaluating the Nebraska program, The Huskers have a tall task to flip him from the team he grew up loving but will take its swing with Smothers also in his ear.

4-star OLB Kaden Johnson‍ (Minneapolis, Minnesota)

The Huskers are locked in a B1G battle for Johnson. Just last week he was in Madison to see the Badgers drub Michigan. Yet, Johnson remains uncommitted and is very excited about his trip to Lincoln. The Huskers made a good impression on Johnson during the spring when he visited and now they get a chance to impress his family. He told Hail Varsity that seeing the game and spending time with the coaching staff are what he is most looking forward to on the trip.

4-star CB Darion Green-Warren‍ (Santa Ana, California)

One of the best defensive back prospects out West, Green-Warren has been on defensive backs coach Travis Fisher’s radar for a whole. He’s a former Oklahoma commit with options all around the country but Nebraska will take its swing this weekend in hopes of making a big move.

4-star WR Lavon Bunkley-Shelton‍ (Gardena, California)

One of the fun storylines this weekend is that Green-Warren and Bunkley-Shelton are cousins. Perhaps the duo sees an opportunity in playing for the Huskers this weekend. The 4-star wide receiver is very interested in Nebraska because of his connection with offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Troy Walters.

“Honesty, Coach Troy Walters is the big reason I’m interested,” he said. “I’m really looking to develop my game and become the best to play wide receiver. Coach has played at the highest level. He has knowledge of the mental side of the game that most don’t know of or don’t talk about. I want to be mentally and physically ready for whatever comes at me. Plus, who doesn’t want to play in front of a sold-out stadium every week?”

The wideout has said he will be announcing his college choice at the All-American Bowl in January.

3-star OLB Jared Ivey‍ (Suwanee, Georgia)

It’s no secret that linebacker is a huge focus for the rest of this recruiting cycle. Ivey fits the profile of the type of outside linebacker the Huskers seem to like. He’s got a good frame, standing at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds. He actually attends the same high school that Husker cornerback Quinton Newsome went to. I’d wager Newsome will be his player host for the weekend.

3-star DT Marquis Black‍ (McDonough, Georgia)
The Georgia defender stands at 6-foot-4, 280-pounds. He has the ability to play all three defensive line positions. Yet, watching his film, he would be very good as a quicker nose tackle with strength to hold up at the point of attack. If his size checks out this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Huskers make a strong push to add him to the class.

3-star LB Rodney Groce‍ (Pleasant Grove, Alabama)

Nebraska is serious about recruiting the South. How serious? The team is hosting both the No. 1 (Bratton) and the No. 2 inside linebacker (Groce) in Alabama for official visits this weekend. Groce has had strong interest in both Mississippi State and Georgia Tech but could find a great fit in Lincoln. He’s been looking forward to this trip.

“[I’m most excited about] getting to meet the coaches and players and seeing what the Nebraska atmosphere is all about.”

3-star DB Ronald Delancy III‍ (Miami, Florida)

Bratton isn’t the only committed prospect in town this weekend. Delancy is a current Louisville commit. However, a connection with recent Nebraska commit Henry Gray has really gotten the Miami native to look the Huskers’ way. He’s another long and physical defender that would continue to grow into his body with Zach Duval and Dave Ellis. When asked what has him interested in the Huskers, he told Hail Varsity “everything.”

Unranked OT target Chandler Durham‍ (McDonough, Georgia)
Unranked OT target Chandler Durham‍ (McDonough, Georgia)

There aren’t a lot of names that we know Nebraska is very interested in adding to the offensive line class this cycle. One we have known for a while is Durham. The Georgia lineman could see the door swing wide open for a commitment this weekend. He’s excited to get to Lincoln.

“I really can’t wait to see what type of energy Nebraska gives off and to see the school and the state.”

2020 Committed Unofficial Visitors
The Huskers will have seven of their 11 commits on campus this weekend. Only the Florida trio of Henry Gray, Tamon Lynum and Marvin Scott III plus Texan Will Nixon won’t be in town.

4-star WR Zavier Betts

3-star RB Sevion Morrison

3-star DT Nash Hutmacher
3-star OLB Blaise Gunnerson

3-star OL Alex Conn

Walk-on lineman Xavier Trevino

2020 Uncommitted Unofficial Visitors
The big deal here is that Oregon commit Myles Slusher will be back in town for the game. The 4-star defensive back took an official visit for the Northern Illinois game and is returning quickly to continue evaluating the program. He is friends with Nebraska running back Sevion Morrison who is helping to peer recruit him.

Holy crap, that's a lot of visitors! Gonna be all hands on deck to host that many kids. Love seeing them put this kind of visit list together with a night game and having Game Day in town and the announcement of the new facility. You can't have it set up any better than that.

Especially love seeing them duke it out for Bama commits here and there and having kids who won't be signing for 2+ years in town.

They certainly seem to be doing it right in recruiting. I watched the IL game again and man Wan'dale is just different. The variety of moves in his arsenal is on another level, he can set you up and get by you in so many ways that a lot of guys can't, Maurice included.

Sure helped in that second half to have a few 4* dudes in your backfield to work with. And just wait til Rahmir Johnson starts having the game slow down for him.

Added some good '21's, Shawn Hardy 3* WR Ga, Thomas Fidone TE Iowa, Ethan Downs DE #1 player in Oklahoma.

No Avante Dickerson, homecoming.

Nash, Betts and Conn joining the party.
Fun fact, Shawn is the son of former WR Frantz Hardy.

Just kidding, yooooooooo it's MENO!!!!!!!!
