Purdue is too high
Great, now that PU fan will be here to ask you "Why, why would you think that they are too high, I know you are joking, but still"

Then he will tell us how the school president and AD are totally supporting the football team and how last years 1 win season was the best 1 win season in history.

I’m a Purdue grad but was a Husker fan long before that

This is a ranking of the off-season for each team FFS!!!!
Except tOSU and Michigan had top ten recruiting classes, Illinois and Indiana did not. Also tOSU landed better transfer portal players, now Indiana landed like half a football squad in the portal but neither UI or IU got the dudes tOSU got in the portal.

So even if it’s a “off-season” ranking, yeah, IU or UI didn’t get better talent than Michigan or tOSU did in the off-season. So what the hell does it mean? Who blows the most smoke up an ass? Cause if that’s the case, WTF isn’t Nebraska #1. Cause it sure isn’t based on talent or practices, cause fans and media don’t get to see real off-season football anymore. Just a circle jerk. That’s all it is. And Huskers should be #1. We’ve got fans that can drink kool-aid and circle jerk the whole staff at the same time. Their mean jerk time is crazy

I can see you’re top 6 but Illinois ahead of USC.
UCLA doesn’t have more potential than Indiana, Nebraska and the Clarkeyes just because Nico went away crying to UCLA.

Not at all. Let them be 18. See what happens. Its year 1 with a good coach. 3 wins is the floor I think. No idea the ceiling. Get spicy and say 6. And quite the opposite, last year was horrible. Especially when you have 6 win talent vs that schedule on the roster.

Anyone that says they know how good or bad Purdue will be has no idea.

...i think we have a pretty good idea.
If you say between 3-6 wins and competitive, you might be right. Won't be like last year. But might take a couple years to clean this mess up.

Just happy the AD ponied up for good coaches. Most Purdue fans are looking on to basketball season though tbh. Final 4 year incoming.

Last year I said they were likely to be a 1 win team. You, as a PU fan, of course said that was not possible. I get that.

Looking at their schedule, if they start off 2-0, they could win 4.

If they drop 1 of the first two...you will have another epic 1-11 season.

Can't imagine they will drop 1 of the first 2. Ball control usually does well vs those teams. And also, both should be bad. But I agree, 4 is what I kind of think, and competitive every other game. But honestly, I have no idea. 53 new portal players makes it all unknown.

Love that you've been thinking of me.

We haven’t beaten Minn since 2018

once again, here is the criteria for these rankings.

The team of reporters focused on three areas for their analysis: retention of key (non-draft-eligible) players, retention of coaches or staff upgrades, and player additions through both the transfer portal and high school recruiting.

This isn't a prediction list for how they will finish the season.

There is no criteria one could use that would make Nebraska that close to Ohio State, or Illini and or Indiana better than, Ohio State. IMO...its a silly list but fun to talk about.

Which, no idea how you can upgrade your entire coaching staff and have a good looking portal class and still be 18th. I know a lot was lost, but 2 of 3 boxes were checked with actual coaches being the biggest. Idk

Not my list, I am not arguing the validity of the list. I am simply stating that the criteria is what it is. This isn't a preseason prediction of how the teams will finish the season, which is what a good majority of the posts are disputing.

Ya. Fair. There has been a lot of confusion on that.

Dude, you are one of my favorite posters! Your incredible love of PU football is an amazing thing.
