If I may tack on another question for all the smart people that may know. Of those that have OV'd, what % are N right now? And how does that compare to prior years?

I'm so lost on recruiting this year, we got all these open spots still ! for commitments but we aren't getting any takers. We have Clemson, Michigan, even Tennessee and Maryland landing 4 star plus guys, not to mention USC, UCLA, Bama, Pen State and these other guys landing everyone they want but we can't even real in a 3 star guy and we are the Nebraska Cornhuskers. I fail to see our issue and why a blue blood team like us struggle to get even close to 6 4 star guys, let a lone not even getting a sniff at ANY of the 5 star guys. I don't know, maybe it's us fans screwing the recruiting up this year with bad mouthing a first year coach and acting like newbies who don't understand football and patients. I guess I pretty much tap out on this year and recruiting and will wait patiently for next years recruiting. Hopefully we don't start missing out on the guys we should get like KJJ, Gebbia and other top guys that seem to love us so far...but I will guess it now, we won't get a serious shot at any 5 stars again next year as well.

Nebraska has 15 takers and three of them are 4 stars, and they're not done yet. 11 are 3-stars, such as the Colorado TE that Texas couldn't get. I fail to see our issue, too. Probably should watch out for those salts.

I get that, and I'll defently be watching and hoping we get some much need depth or starters comming in. It just seems like all the other blue blood programs hit on most if there guys, even with bad records or fired coaches and we SEEM to be a lot farther off then all the other blue bloods in college football when it comes to getting our guys.

Why don't you shop for a doc that will script some anti-anxiety drugs for you then just pop them until the middle of February. NO school is getting all the guys they want. We'll be fine.

here's some facts that get me to see it the way I do this year

Tennessee has 8 4 star guys and 2 are from Kansas
Kentucky has 4 4 star guys, one from Kansas
Arizona State has 1 5 star and 4 4 star guys and a good 3 star guy from Nebraska
these 2 teams are known for basketball and there beating us in recruiting
Duke has 4 4 star guys
North Carolina has 7 freaking 4 star guys.

Sorry in my opinion we shouldn't lose to these guys in recruiting let a lone lossing Kansas and Nebraska kids to them. None of the teams above are elite this year or done anything lately if ever. I know we still have time but man we are missing on 3 star guys let alone pulling in 4 star or better. Hopefully it changes for us before signing day.

oh I'm fine, ill wake up tomorrow and still be a Husker fan till the day I die. And believe me I won't lose sleep over recruiting....just simply don't get what we are doing differently then all these other programs. BTW I never said they hit ALL there guys, never been much of an extremists, but I said they hit in most of there guys.

Harrison Beck and Marlon Lucky were a couple of the most highly ranked guys at their positions in the country. Marlon was a good not great 3rd down back with a bad work ethic. Beck never did anything anywhere. There is more to recruiting than just picking every highly ranked kid in your vicinity. A kid has to fit your culture and your schemes.

fair enough and got a good point. Callahan did have that "it" factor when it came to recruiting. I'm assuming he solid that "I was a head coach for a team in a super bowl" to recruits.

We probably don't follow other programs enough to have a sense of how often they are not hitting on targets. When a guy picks Ole Miss over Bama or TEN over South Carolina or UCLA over USC. And so on.
