You said the big east deserved more respect in the tournament seeding because they were a “premier” power basketball conference. This flies in the face of reality given that they had a terrible non-conference record, finished 4 in overall net ratings among power conferences, and likely will have no more than 1 team make the sweet 16. I mentioned the big 10 record as a mere juxtaposition to show how idiotic your take was

Conference of Champions now 9-0. Just to clarify a real 9-0. Not a hypothetical one. They actually won those games on the court. They didn’t just win the eye ball test or get declared the winner because their team had more potential draft picks. Or because they had more quality loses during the regular season.
Michigan State has the best chance but I wouldn’t put big money on that.

I dont dispute that the big east was strong last year. But they were way down this year, and other conferences like the big were better, that was my reason for invoking the records. I thought they were seeded pretty fairly based on net ratings and overall strength of the big east. Conversely, many on this board have undervalued and dismissed the strength of the big ten this year IMO.

Kind of hard to 4 teams in the sweet 16 when you only had 3 in the tournament. But yes all made it . 4 this year If you look at the conference standings you could make a case for Marquette at 23-11 .everyone else was at 1-2 over 500 or a losing overall record. When the SEC got 14 someone had to take a hit .

Except for me. I live in Alabama, and to be upfront, hate the SEC more than I love the BIG. But these Jethro’s down here absolutely hate the BIG and think God created the SEC on the 8th day. And as I am in sales and not stupid, I never say anything. But watching the BIG win while the SEC struggles is glorious.
We do far more boning of ourselves than the league does. The league wants our football team to return to prominence. To think otherwise is highly short sighted.
Is that why they made a mockery of us for wanting to play football when the sniffles were going around?
