Sophomore OF Luke Jessen has entered the transfer portal as he announced early Thursday afternoon. The Elkhorn South graduate recorded no hits in seven at-bats this season in a pretty minimal role. With the influx of outfielder talent that came to Lincoln via the transfer portal, it wasn't too much of a surprise to see his playing time diminish.

That was coming off a freshman season that saw him hit .257 in 74 plate appearances with a double, triple and five RBI. Jessen will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Jessen becomes the sixth player to enter the transfer portal for NU this offseason following Jake Bunz, CJ Hood, Brandon Lundquist, Mikey Pauley (football) and Blake Mozley. Corbin Hawkins also departed the team, but he retired from baseball.
