...from making Nebraska the only Power 5 team without a NCAA Tourney victory.
Well if Vandy has high academic standards, they apparently made an exception. My goodness what a brain cramp.
Chicago guy and a good coach. He's recruited very well.Collins>>>>>>>>Miles. Was a great hire by NW
The B1G struggling in the tourney makes the team's performance look that much more pathetic.
Programs who are better than nebraska but have no reason to be or major advantage....
Creighton
IsU
Iowa
Wisconsin
Kansas state
Vanderbilt
Basically any small school that is consistently good
Oklahoma
West Virginia
I get a few of these have history but they dont have huge metropolitan areas that NU cant reach, nor do they have campuses with stuff to do, a few have terrible facilities and most dont have what nebraska has, fans at NU will support as well or better than any, etc etc. no excuses and pathetic we have settled
We're young
K State has history. I remember growing up watching Jack Hartman coached teams at the very top of the Big 8. Iowa State went out and hired an underappreciated Johnny Orr from Michigan. Johnny was to be a resource for ISU and the asked the question "what are you paying." It was more than Michigan was willing to pay. The only thing that Nebraska has it that stupid slogan "Nebrasketball"At least we have volleyball I guess. It's just crazy to me how an athletic department with so much money and resources can be so bad in a revenue sport. Meanwhile, programs like Iowa St and K-State make the tourney almost every year.

Recruiting. You have to be able to convince the multiple difference makers that they are needed to change a program. Without the difference makers no real change in results. I believe most difference makers want to be a part of something that is on going not to try and change a program. They want to play their one year and move on. A coach at a lower level doesn't have to recruit this type of player. I believe that all though they are successful at the lower level, that is why many of them struggle when moving to a power five conferenceI have never understood why another school having history is an excuse for Nebraska being unable to produce a winning product.
DePaul has history but haven't been to an NCAA tournament in 13 years, Northwestern has no history but right now has a better program. Why? Coaching. End of story.
Hell, UNO is more competitive than the Huskers!

UNO will be in the tourney before Nebraska goes back.
Not really UNO has to win their conference tournament to get in. All Nebraska has to do is have a 10-8 conference and a quality non conference schedule with at least 8 wins 18-13 finishing 6 or 7will get you in the Dance in the B1G.

Wrong. Only 2 times since the expansion to 68 teams has an 18 win team made the dance. Oh and 2017 Iowa disagrees.
