NW is 20 minutes away....

At least we have volleyball I guess. It's just crazy to me how an athletic department with so much money and resources can be so bad in a revenue sport. Meanwhile, programs like Iowa St and K-State make the tourney almost every year.

Hopefully it happens and hopefully the sports world notices that Nebraska is the only one. I think the pressure really needs to be turned up on this program that is hopelessly lost in this never-ending loop of varying degrees of mediocrity.

Someone want to explain to me how Vandy can be any good on defense having unathletic shooters out on the court?

Congrats to the other NU ;)

Just because we had our chances (7) Couldn't have happen to a better University especially in our conference.

Programs who are better than nebraska but have no reason to be or major advantage....
Creighton
IsU
Iowa
Wisconsin
Kansas state
Vanderbilt
Basically any small school that is consistently good
Oklahoma
West Virginia

I get a few of these have history but they dont have huge metropolitan areas that NU cant reach, nor do they have campuses with stuff to do, a few have terrible facilities and most dont have what nebraska has, fans at NU will support as well or better than any, etc etc. no excuses and pathetic we have settled

The B1G struggling in the tourney makes the team's performance look that much more pathetic.

Gophers have been really the only that pissed their pants.Wisky is barely winning at the moment with about 8:00 left to go.

K State has history. I remember growing up watching Jack Hartman coached teams at the very top of the Big 8. Iowa State went out and hired an underappreciated Johnny Orr from Michigan. Johnny was to be a resource for ISU and the asked the question "what are you paying." It was more than Michigan was willing to pay. The only thing that Nebraska has it that stupid slogan "Nebrasketball"

I have never understood why another school having history is an excuse for Nebraska being unable to produce a winning product.

DePaul has history but haven't been to an NCAA tournament in 13 years, Northwestern has no history but right now has a better program. Why? Coaching. End of story.

Recruiting. You have to be able to convince the multiple difference makers that they are needed to change a program. Without the difference makers no real change in results. I believe most difference makers want to be a part of something that is on going not to try and change a program. They want to play their one year and move on. A coach at a lower level doesn't have to recruit this type of player. I believe that all though they are successful at the lower level, that is why many of them struggle when moving to a power five conference

I doubt any high school kids today know who Jack Hartman or Johnny Orr are. KSU and ISU offer nothing we can't today in terms of resources, location, facilities, fan support, etc. Neither school has ever won a National Championship or even made a Final Four in the last 50 years. These two programs were in the cellar before they went out and hired Huggins and Hoiberg, respectively.

KSU and ISU, along with our football program, are good examples that coaching matters more to recruits than history. If our bball program could make a splash hire like KSU and ISU did, things would change in a hurry.

Nebraska doesn't need to recruit 1 and dones to make it to the freaking NCAA tournament and win a game.

Villanova won the damn thing last year, and are the top overall seed this year, with a bunch of guys that will play 4 years. Outside of Brunson, I don't think they they even have a dude that leaves early at all.

Coaches do the recruiting. I know some people on here hate to use Creighton as an example, but they have a top 25 class this year and it isn't because they have a history of making sweet 16 appearances, considering they haven't been there since 1974.

No one is asking or expecting Nebraska to be a final 4 team. The expectation level is so much lower than that. How aboutbjust get tonthe tournament on consecutive years...like they did from 1991-1994.

Its just more excuses

UNO will be in the tourney before Nebraska goes back.

Not really UNO has to win their conference tournament to get in. All Nebraska has to do is have a 10-8 conference and a quality non conference schedule with at least 8 wins 18-13 finishing 6 or 7will get you in the Dance in the B1G.

I understand that. I still feel that UNO will be there before Nebraska is back. At least as long as NU has the current staff IMO.

You just can't expect a once in a generation coach like Danny Nee to come around all the time. Sometimes you get a turd coach like Miles, but that coach is a wonderful tweeter. You have to be willing to take the good with the bad. You can't have everything.

Wrong. Only 2 times since the expansion to 68 teams has an 18 win team made the dance. Oh and 2017 Iowa disagrees.

Iowa had a week RPI 81 by the way and I said quality non conference schedule like Illinois (64) but they didn't have a winning conference record and I used 18-13 should have said 19-14 as an example and I also didn't include a B1G tournament game(s).

And now South Carolina wins their first NCAA tourney game since 1973.

Oregon St now has the longest p5 conference drought other than us, they haven't won an NCAA tourney game since 1982. Rutgers hasn't won one since 1983, TCU 1987.
