but very different results. So bottom line is IMHO.. while I do think balance is important play call wise, main thing, you have to have good production running and from QB throwing with that called balance vs. most good teams and especially vs. better teams

NU 35 passes to 42 runs but really good yardage and scoring production in passing game was the difference. To all the run the bawl fans...I think that was leaving too much on table to just line up and run when there were athletic mismatched in pass game downfield.

. This is the real key to what balance should mean to us all both in unpredictability of play calls but even more importantly yards need to be gained with that balance. WY wasn't able to really achieve great production especially later in game.

Wyomings play calling 31 32 basically split giving them great balance especially early...they were clicking 9/12 to start the game passing.... and I believe it was the only way they would have a chance to both pass and run well to be close. I think they ultimately would have needed more from the runs they called but simply put as I tell anyone who will listen you aren't going to typically outmuscle a superior opponent. Whether Bohl wanted to run more and better or not, I'm sure he did..they point was NU was good enough to say no you aint

and so my Husker fans, this is what I mean when I say we are going to have to shake our run the ball all game or even 75% when we face our better run stopping defenses in Big 10 Wisc, Iowa and Ohio State and probably we'll have to do both really well to beat Oregon too. Just like lesser LOS Wyoming couldn't just line up and power us..we also won't be able to do that if that's all we do vs. the bigger boys up front talentwise

and bottom bottom line besides piss poor running by WY was the fact your QB can't turn it over 5 times either

But if all WY did was run, run pass every series..they probably don't score. less talented teams cannot usually be close to better teams doing that
