Heading out soon to attend Huskers vs. Gophers dual match at Devaney. My first wrestling match in person. Not predicting a 55-0 rout like PSU put on Michigan State last night, but wouldn’t complain if it happened.

For those not familiar with wrestling, the 55-0 score last night would be like Ohio State beating Purdue 140-0 in football this year.
I can’t attend this one but would like to. NU wrestling is tough, if not quite “elite.” Minnesota down a little this year but certainly not weak. Looking at match-ups, NU SHOULD win this and maybe get some bonus-point victories.
I caught the last match. Easy pin for PSU about a minute after I turned it on. I was laughing at the score.
Todays match with Mn is going to be razor close. Nu needs to dominate the lighter weights
Looks like first match is 157, so if Huskers need a win in the last match if the day it might come down to Ridge.
Gable Steveson is back on the team for Minny. He has been signing autographs and takimg pictures with the fans for about 30 minutes already. Hopefully that means he is NOT wrestling today, which will improve out chances of winning.

Steveson vs. Kirkvliet (PSU) would be be a legendary match if the finals of NCAAs.
Exciting first 2 matches. Taylor wins in SV and Minto gets the upset. Huskers lead 6-0.
Minto with a huge win over Sparks! He fought off 3 single legs during the match for stalemates.
Lenny looked a lot faster this match, but there is no reason he needed to back up in the final 30 seconds.
One more take down and he would have bonus points for the team. Instead he backed up and got a stall call.

Silas Allred up. He looks slower tonight. Minny getting to his legs easily.
Max McEnelly from Minny is elite. Great balance, quick and strong.

I actually met Polar Bear’s dad at The Brazen Tavern in Manhattan before the Pinstripe bowl. Great guy. Kind of a biker dude type with tats. We talked about wrestling and how important it was to Nash’s whole approach to football.
