I think Miles knows McVeigh is a huge liability against their athleticism. We will struggle to shoot all night if he uses that as an excuse to not play Jack very much. Probably won't see Horne for more than a minute or 2.I'm a bit mystified by the early substitutions, but let's upset the Gophers.
I was mainly referring to the fact that Jacobson made two early shots - a phenomenon that comes around about as often as Halley's comet - and got pulled for... They can abuse us all night inside if they want. Hopefully Jordy plays in the 2nd half instead of disappearing in the bench black hole.I was mainly referring to the fact that Jacobson made two early shots - a phenomenon that comes around about as often as Halley's comet - and got pulled for... Would like to see some zone employed. Gophers have shown zero patience and no real offense other than to put their head down a drive to the rim. Seems like a zone might frustrate them.
Apparently so. Not sure what he was complaining about. The officiating has been pretty even-handed tonight, in my opinion. So, was that technical on Molinari? The guy is a nut job on the sideline.
Miles is obviously tuned into our message board. But it didn't really work very well, so now he's heading to the locker room muttering, "Last time I listen to those dumb #@((#*&#s!"Miles run a zone? In the first half?![]()

Illinois might have a case.Minnesota playing the best basketball in the B1G right now.
Nobody can say different.

I think it was actually on Eichorst. He is an expert at throwing his voice, and got that technical to further sabotage the team.Looking like it could be a 3rd straight blowout since the Barfknecht article. We seem to be getting worse as the season goes along, while other young teams like Minnesota and Illinois have improved significantly.
The technical foul was on Coach Hunter. Regardless, it's time for "Defensive Guru" Molinari to go. He's the Mark Banker of basketball.
I can only surmise that Fuller must have relatives at the game. Those two first-half stints made no sense at all.And Fuller isn't? If it's an athleticism match-up, Isaiah Roby should be the first off the bench.
Jacobson starts off on fire and there's zero sets ran for him. @Archie Graham here's an example of unhappiness with the offense.

Zero ball movement, for one thing. Huskers have used only half the floor on most possessions and we have a lot of ball-stoppers on the team. Gophers are barely breaking a sweat on the defensive end. That's not the only issue, but it's right up there.Painful to watch. This team just imploded. I hear this is the most talented team at NU in decades, everyone is healthy. What's the issue?

Illinois has improved lately...Minnesota started out like a comet 12-1 going into conference play they have turned the corner after Petino was on the hot seat after last season and the fan base wanted him GONE.
Illinois might have a case.
Has Roby played tonight?
True, but Richard is in Year 4 while Miles is in Year 5. If Doc Sadler, who many believe to be a poor coach, could go .500 in conference play with the smallest team in D-I basketball...these last 3 losing seasons under Miles seem to be a reflection of very poor coaching.
Eichorst and Boehm are both sitting right behind the NU bench. Can't be too pleased with what they've seen so far tonight.
Thanks. Ive only seen the second half and hadn't seen him.Ya, got in at the U8 timeout and I believe played the rest of the half.
doc was a better in game coach (wasnt even that good, which says something) and was much better at getting his team ready to play.
