With USC after this year’s game in South Bend is the last one on the contact.
One of these days they might see value in joining a conference. With USC after this year’s game in South Bend is the last one on the contact.
There is nothing more I would like than ND getting hosed somehow, but the Pope has too much money for that to happen. One of these days they might see value in joining a conference.
They would be stupid to.Don't give AF one way or the other bout the Domers but I think with the playoff expanding, that seals the deal they will never need to join a conference.
Lincoln Riley didn’t expect the B1G to be as hard as it was. Lesson learned. With USC after this year’s game in South Bend is the last one on the contact.
I doubt you will see any B1G teams scheduling games against top 20 caliber non conference teams. The conference slate is already brutal. Those first three non conference games will now be treated as extra scrimmages against very weak directional State teams. Heck, I even think playing Cincinnati is a mistake for us. It won’t be long before Notre Dame has no B1G opponents on their scheduleLincoln Riley didn’t expect the B1G to be as hard as it was. Lesson learned.
And likely more schools going to the SEC non-conference scheduling model of playing a weaker opponent in the middle of or late in the season to give starters a break to gain late-season energy.I doubt you will see any B1G teams scheduling games against top 20 caliber non conference teams. I agree. I want to see the traditional rivalries. That's a key part of what made college football great and much of that is going away. While this game means very little to me most years, and I rarely watch it, I am sympathetic to the fans who enjoy this old school rivalry. I hope their rivalry continues.
It would be nice to see the ACC become more competitive. I suppose ND has $$$ reasons for why they shouldn't do that. Money is all that matters at this point. At this point, ND should just join the ACC. They play six games next year against teams from that league.
They are in the ACC right? Except football? maybe that is what you meant. At this point, ND should just join the ACC. They play six games next year against teams from that league.
That is where they compete the other sports with football carved out. The B1G and SEC should end all regular season games against them until they join a conference. They are in the ACC right? Except football? maybe that is what you meant.
I hope eventually they will be required to be in a conference of some sort or be left out. It may not be the SEC or BIG 10 it may be whatever the whole things evoles into. That is where they compete the other sports with football carved out. Hasn't the ACC already agreed to different revenue sharing amounts for different schools like Florida State? It would be nice to see the ACC become more competitive. I suppose ND has $$$ reasons for why they shouldn't do that. Money is all that matters at this point.
I bet you don’t know the history behind Nebraska and Notre Dame after the 1925 season ?maybe we can take SC's place?
one can dream
When did it go to 16🤔Am I the only one that notices when someone mentions the new 16 team playoff format, they always slide ND as having one of the at large spots?
I do.I bet you don’t know the history behind Nebraska and Notre Dame after the 1925 season ?
It’s the reason why Knute Rockne decided to quit playing Nebraska and play out in LA against USC.
Again you’re sense of humor amazes me.I do.
which is why I suggested we take their spot.
only makes sense.
Annual game against ND would be awesomeAgain you’re sense of humor amazes me.
Make sure you get a fish sandwich for lunch..
Right now they are doing very well.I hope eventually they will be required to be in a conference of some sort or be left out. It may not be the SEC or BIG 10 it may be whatever the whole things evoles into.
This is the dilemma I have as an Iowa fan now with playing ISU, especially that it is a home and home. Keeping a now competitive ISU game on the schedule while also playing the BIG10 schedule might not be the best formula for Iowa long term. It probably helps ISU more than it ever helps Iowa.I doubt you will see any B1G teams scheduling games against top 20 caliber non conference teams. The conference slate is already brutal. I believe so. Notre Dame would be expecting to get more than any other member and they should. It would still be a great deal for the ACC.Hasn't the ACC already agreed to different revenue sharing amounts for different schools like Florida State?
That was obvious when ND ignored its catholic faith and joined the ACC over the Big East.It would be nice to see the ACC become more competitive. I suppose ND has $$$ reasons for why they shouldn't do that. Money is all that matters at this point.
Yeah, unfortunately the toothpaste is way out of the tube at this point. Since our traditional "rivalries" went away all the way back in 2011 at least we've had time to get used to it.I agree. I want to see the traditional rivalries. That's a key part of what made college football great and much of that is going away.

Count me as someone that sees no logic in it either. Schedule 3 easy wins to start the season and focus on the conference. If I were the AD I'd drop the future OU series regardless of the history.I doubt you will see any B1G teams scheduling games against top 20 caliber non conference teams. I don't think TV partners will allow things like that to happen. They still need to have inventory for the first 3 weeks of the season and a couple of early conference games isn't going to be enough.Count me as someone that sees no logic in it either. And, believe it or not, there are still backbone and nutsack possessing men in this sport who want to compete with and try to beat the bestI don't think TV partners will allow things like that to happen. If NU can ever get its shit together, a win over a decent OU team is the kind of thing that helps them get to the playoffs.I don't think TV partners will allow things like that to happen. They still need to have inventory for the first 3 weeks of the season and a couple of early conference games isn't going to be enough.
Those teams are always looking for fans to join their ranks. And, believe it or not, there are still backbone and nutsack possessing men in this sport who want to compete with and try to beat the best
