No SEC teams in playoff?

Some people on the radio were trying really hard to convince everyone that Bama and Georgia would get in.

For Bama they said "well they are being punished for playing a good non-conference schedule."

For Georgia they said: "how dare they punish a 2x defending national champion. They deserve to defend their title."

It was very dumb. If FSU wins then and Bama wins then I agree no SEC.

Yup. I hate to say it, but if Bama wins then go 'Noles!

Florida States QB got a concussion last week, so they are likely starting a 3rd string freshman tonight who has little game action this year. FSU loses and Alabama would be in if SEC score holds

Winner of this game goes. Bank it

Edit: assuming FSU loses that is, which I am almost expecting. If they win, I suppose they deserve to be in but everyone knows they have 0 chance of winning

If FSU wins the committee will have to make a tough, tough decision. You can't not give them a shot because of a QB injury. Ohio St won the title in 2014 with its 3rd string QB.
You can't put Alabama ahead of Texas because Texas beat them decisively at Alabama. Washington should be in for being undefeated and they played a relatively strong schedule beating Oregon twice.
The only fair outcome if FSU wins is 1) Michigan 2) Washington 3) FSU 4) Texas.

You have to judge based on the results of the whole season, not just the recent injury of the QB.

Yep. If FSU loses none of it matters.

However, if FSU wins,

Texas went into the SEC champion's home stadium and came out with a 2 score win.

If that doesn't matter, not sure why anything matters.

Why would it matter that Alabama just beat Georgia?

Why should one loss Georgia be out over one loss Alabama?

There has been discussion that their injury status and how they’re playing at the end of the year is factored in. I think FSU has to win convincingly to have a shot.

Rodemaker would be back for the playoff, but fsu needs this freshman to figure it out quick or they have no chance tonight

Expanded playoff fixes this. A playoff without the SEC would be pretty ludicrous, but justified with the system in place. The UT win over Bama did that, but Milroe is a different dude now. I’m quite sure Bama and UGA would be favored over everyone in the playoff on a neutral field, except maybe Michigan. Maybe….

If Michigan and FSU win their games, then the final four should be:

  1. Michigan
  2. Washington
  3. FSU
  4. Texas
You can't penalize FSU based on how good or not they are without Travis. If they beat Louisville, they're in as ACC champs and being undefeated. They did everything asked of them, and the question has been answered on the field. Not human bias or "eye test".

And you certainly can't put Bama in over UT. The Horns beat them head-to-head.

So those are your four teams.
