Bummed. Brice Williams is awesome; one of our best ever. Was hoping to return to March Madness.
I’m not sure how long you have watched Nebraska basketball. But I don’t even have Williams on 3rd team of best ever here. One of the best since the turn of the century? Yeah probably but not all time

There was Brice (and a bit of of Sam) then there was the rest of the team: 5-39

5-39. Can’t recall ever hearing anything that pathetic. And these guys are now pros making a lot of money to go 5-39.

DOGE ‘em.

I don't think it's over for the Dance. A month ago everyone was ready to quit on them. Then we went on a stretch of wins and people were talking 10 seed. Let's just let it play out before we call all doom and gloom.

Be honest Husker fans...how many of you bet on Michigan? If I was able to bet in this state, i'd have tossed down sum cabbage on Michigan when I saw the line...how many others actually did?

If you weigh entire careers as a Husker, definitely not. But if you look at individual seasons, his scoring is fairly elite this season.

I think the door is still open a crack, but I think odds are against us. Last night would have been huge. We needed one of those last two three attempts to fall but aside from Williams and Hoiberg the team was ice cold.

Yeah but if you had bet on Michigan, it's not like you spent the evening counting your winnings. Michigan couldn't put the ball through a Hula Hoop either, and tried to give it away at the end.

Williams should have taken that last shot. He had a full head of steam with 8 seconds left. No one was stopping him from getting to the rack.

We have Minnesota, Ohio State, and Iowa left. We are 7-9 in the BIG. We can take 2 of these 3 and maybe pick up a win in the Tourney. That would get us to 20 wins, And I think we may be in. Anything short of that and it's a bust I would imagine.

This times infinity. The announcer said we got a great last shot - BS.

Yeah as good as Williams was last night, that was a bad decision. Get to the rim for a layup or free throws.

This! He elevates and either dunks or goes to the line down 1 with 5-7 seconds left.

The bubble is super weak this year. You are going to see teams with 18 and 19 wins getting in all over the place. Now, if that includes NU, I don't know.

Williams had two guys on him and probably did what he was told, if you draw the double, kick it out. It was a good look, squared up, not on the run, he missed. We really do not have consistent shooters on this team, obviously.

You were awfully quiet about the coaching during our run of wins in January and early February.
Does it really matter? We end up in the same place every year. Thats pattern we need to fix.

I have said her many times, I wish Fred would be very, very successful and Nebraska could keep him a long time. But if his success is what we want to accept then I am totally out of Nebraska basketball. Why settle? It's the fastest sport that can be turned around and yet we can't get a coach/AD to figure it out.

Certainly not a hill I'm going to die on. You probably are right. But I think it's important to view our recent history of coaching changes with a skeptical eye with regards to quick success. Maybe there is someone out there that can bring in recruits... really that's what matters most at this point. Fred's biggest down fall IMO has been letting all of the recent instate talent escape to other schools.

It might have been the correct play, but he needs more alpha in him to take the shot. He's by far the best player and the only person that could hit a shot all night. I would rather him take a contested shot that anyone else on the team taking a three last night. Be the dude and hit the game winner.

We’re on the doorstep of back to back tourney births.

Do you know when the last time we did that was?

It’s already turned around. Your expectations are a perfect example of that.

Not saying Fred deserves a lifetime contract but if he gets in a wins a game in the dance I’m also not saying that

Easy to say, but hard to do. We also have the benefit of hindsight. If Essegian hits the shot for the win, nothing is said. If Brice takes a contested shot in traffic and misses, most everyone would be critical that he didn't pass to a wide open teammate.
