You don't think that kids who haven't proven shit at the collegiate level getting paid hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars as a problem? You don't think that kids selling out to the highest bidder and leaving their teammates left out to dry is a problem? You don't see a problem with coaches, agents, boosters etc.... poaching players from other teams? You don't see fans getting stuck with every growing exorbitant costs because of it as a problem?
Not to mention what it's teaching today's college age players... Many of whom are natural leaders and represent some of the best that America has to offer.... That greed, fame, money, prestige, etc.... outweigh loyalty, caring for others, being true to yourself and your team, being trustworthy, being responsible, working hard to achieve success with your teammates, persistence, patience, etc...etc...etc.... .
Again i'm not saying that players don't deserve some compensation for their efforts on the field of play, but the shit that is going down right now is disgusting and gluttonous. Very sad IMHO.
Okay, let me try to answer these.
You don't think that kids who haven't proven shit at the collegiate level getting paid hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars as a problem? No, why do they have to "prove it" at the college level, they don't have to "Prove it" at the NFL level" to make money in the NFL.
You don't think that kids selling out to the highest bidder and leaving their teammates left out to dry is a problem? No, Because they are leaving to get a better chance, they hope. Just like you are I would at any job. Unless you are saying careers are less important?
You don't see a problem with coaches, agents, boosters etc.... poaching players from other teams? This has happened since the start of organized sports. I guess it is annoying.
You don't see fans getting stuck with every growing exorbitant costs because of it as a problem? Sure, but I don't pay for anything. I don't buy tickets, I get them for free, I don't buy jerseys or stuff like that.
Not to mention what it's teaching today's college age players... Many of whom are natural leaders and represent some of the best that America has to offer.... That greed, fame, money, prestige, etc.... outweigh loyalty, caring for others, being true to yourself and your team, being trustworthy, being responsible, working hard to achieve success with your teammates, persistence, patience, etc...etc...etc.... .
- This one is odd. Greed is not bad. Fame is not bad. Money is not bad. Prestige is not bad.
Trust me, these players work hard, 99% of them are responsible and trustworthy. Signing with a team and leaving after the season doesn't make them bad people.
