News out of Clarkeye city

they'll just bide their time until we shit down our legs

That’s what their entire philosophy has been for the Ferentz regime. Field position, defense against a long field for opponents (harder to sustain drives or eventually get a takeaway) and get 2-3 off tackle plays for a TD on offense. That works pretty well for average, or below average teams, but gets them a blowout loss against solid competition. Boring as hell but works for them.

FWIW, Iowa still sucks.

They’ll be too one dimensional to give our defense fits if they trot him out there. It’s teams that can play action or rpo well that make our defense look like 5th graders.

We can’t, I repeat, CANNOT let them break any big runs. Seems to happen against both these teams late in the game. We’ll be playing great to good rushing defense going into the game. We’ll play great run defense against them for 3ish quarters, holding them to less 3 yds a carry and BOOM… they hit you with a stretch play or a counter for a 45 yard TD that just breaks our back.

They could wheel out

and still beat us.

A lot of big trash talk on here about a team we have beaten once in the past decade. I hate Iowa worse than dog crap on my shoes but I ain’t gonna talk trash about them until we back our words with a victory.
Hawkeye fans are trash, that’s my experience. They are hypocritical, intellectually dishonest scum bags when it comes to Nebraska football. Including the two Iowa dorks ITT. I rarely talk trash about Iowa football as that program is irrelevant and if it was a little person they’d be an inch taller than Nebraska since 2015, in other words the taller midget since 2015.

I don't think it is/was "spouting off" rather than just realizing that if you have an offense built around a running QB, they are eventually going to get hurt. That line of thinking is there regardless of the team we are talking about.
Nah, you idiots have a noticeable obsession with all things husker football. I’ve rarely come across a decent Iowa fan where Nebraska is involved. I wish and hope that every football season starts or ends more horribly than the last for Iowa. I’ve witnessed Nebraska at the highest level for multiple decades in a better conference than the big ten. I hope Iowa never has a single epic season.

Hey bud, I made a prediction that Mongai from Rutgers would only finish with 75 yards in the Rutgers game and was off by 3 yards as he finished with 78 and at the time he was ranked the number 3 RB in the country and Rutgers was ranked 12th in the nation in rushing offense at the time and eveyone laughed at it. By the way, that prediciton wasn't made on this site. How'd that turn out again?

I like your confidence, but Iowa is a much better team than Rutgers.

Not at that time they weren't. I'm stickin to my guns on this. They have now become one dimensional as their depth chart at QB is hurt in one way or another. They have no prayer at just running it at us as the DL just like it has done the entire year except for Indiana has mauled every OL they have faced including last Saturday. The number of holds USC had offensively OL, Receivers and RBs that entire game that were never called which prevented monsterous plays in the backfield by the Blackshirts which spent quite a bit the day in is sickening to say the least.

That is my view as well. He will be back and he will have a solid game against us. It is at night at Kinnick. We suck on both sides of the ball. We cannot beat any team with a pulse. There is a very low probability that we will win. I think our chances are much better against Wisconsin despite the QB uncertainty at Iowa
Wisconsin RB will top Gordon’s 408 rushing yards and McNamara will be a perfect 16/16 with 5 tds against us

Herky buddy told me last night that McNamara will return to the starting line up and he knows McNamara can’t throw deep, be interesting to see how he performs against Maryland.

He’s playing out of position

We have nobody else I guess

Miss Newsome dearly
Yep. Need to portal the hell out of the secondary. Rhule also needs to have the hard conversation with Buford about coming back. He might be a great kid, but we need ball players and tough decisions need to be made. I feel the same way about Butler as well. He's so inconsistent and has been part of the losing that we should cut bait with him as well and go get someone who might produce more.

It will take a big change in philosophy for Rhule to do those things.

I hate to admit that I listened to some of the Preacher’s latest Monday sermon, but he reflected on when he came here and wanted to emulate TO’s successful developmental model but now realizes in this new environment with reduced roster sizes and the portal he might need to change his approach in order to remain employed.

Or at least I hope that was approximately what he said, because it should have been his message unless he likes failure. 🤣

It appears McNamara will not be staring against Maryland tomorrow and the herky’s are going with 4th string QB transfer from Colorado St.
Probably won’t matter. Not much for UMD to play for. KF will lean on his defense and ask QB1 to not take risks. Unless the Terps fold early don’t foresee either team scoring more than 3 td’s.

True, and often it is on a fourth and one.

While I don’t disagree that we miss Newsome, what’s crazy is that he wasn’t even good enough to be drafted in the NFL.

Compare that to the 2009 defense, where Prince Amukara was a 1st round draft pick, Alfonzo Dennard was a 7th round draft pick, Dejon Gomes was a 5th round draft pick, and Eric Hagg was a 7th round draft pick.

There is no excuse for how much the secondary has regressed.

Smoke on their board is referencing a handful of possible opt outs for remaining 2 games. McNamara didn’t get on plane supposedly and a starting CB is rumored to be an opt out.
