Sacrifice moves the runner to third. Kubat might have had a play at third but did the right thing to get the sure out with a two run lead.

Chesnut gets the first batter to ground out to SS. Then Headley charges in from third to just get the runner at first for out number two! A strike out gives the good guys a 1-2-3 inning!

One kind of gets the feeling that this will have to be the way we stay competitive this year ... great pitching and defense to make a couple runs hold up.

Ben Miller fouls off a number of pitches to stay alive, then on a 2-2 count gets plunked on the hand for a HBP. Placzek comes in to run for Miller. Hope Ben isn't hurt badly. Hawaii going to the pen.

With runners at the corners, Darby hits a sharp grounder back to the pitcher. Looked like a sure double play but the SS couldn't turn it and Darby beats the throw allowing Placzek to score. Darby then stole second. Alvarado then grounded out for the final out. Nice couple of insurance runs.
