Okay, this is just mean. I'm home with the kids today. My wife went in to work to get some comp. time. So I start the day doing little projects around the house, while the kids goof off, play Minecraft, and whatever.

At about noon I put in the 1997 Husker game against UCF, for laughs. My daughter, 8, and so, 5, figure the Huskers are on like a normal Saturday in the fall. But after the game is over, I keep playing DVD's of the season that I have. It makes good background noise. The kids, especially my son, continue to watch. The Huskers go on to beat Washington, Kansas State, and Baylor. Racking up some dominant wins. The kids are really getting excited. I guess they don't know football teams don't play back-to-back-to-back games like that. Especially in different stadiums.

The good news, of the current Husker players, Scott Frost is now their favorite. So I guess they will really be excited late tonight when the Huskers win the national championship, and again in three days when Scott Frost is named Nebraska's new head coach.

That is awesome! I can only imagine their reactions when Scott comes home!

I envy them, wish my Husker memories could skip everything in between Frost being the QB to Frost being the coach. ;)

Skipping every thing is a bit much. There were some very solid years in between '97 and the debacle we are experiencing this year.

I was at an Iowa game in IC in the day Nebraska played UCF. Nebraska was down at halftime and they announced the score. Crowd cheered loudly at that. I was in my Nebraska shirt and got some grief. Thank god they won that game.

Awesome!! Actually went to the UCF-NU game back in 1997 with Daunte Culpepper as their QB. It was actually a close game longer than it should have been..

Did he break the news that Culpepper ended up being the better NFL QB of the two. And Frost was a back up safety.
