Nebraska quarterback Casey Thompson reacts to the hiring of Matt Rhule

CT staying would be huge in having a realistic shot at 6 wins and a bowl game next year. He's already proven he's sharp enough to quickly pick up a new OC's system by his play this year.
The schedule is crazy soft next year and this year they won 4 with a super legit chance to win 7.

I’d like to keep Mickey but he’s not necessary. The world will still turn. Supposedly we have an offer on the table and it’s more or less what he asked for. Problem is some of these smaller schools looking for head coaches can probably offer him double what he’d make even as the highest paid WR coach and obviously the chance to have his own program.

I think the more intriguing proposition is how long do we have to give him to make a decision. Rhule probably can’t afford to give him as much time as he’d like if he’s going to have to go shopping for other candidates if MJ bolts.

The mickey hype is pretty thick. He's a likable guy and good recruiter, and i would like him to stay, but c'mon already.

2 things-

correct me if I’m wrong but if he transfers again he has to sit a year?

He mentioned he has a SLAP lesion in his shoulder and might have to have surgery- that’s not good

If he is not a great fit, I think Rhule would rather have growing pains with a younger guy instead of limiting the implementation of the new offense. I don't think the defense will drop off, but the offense could look worse before it looks better.

If he graduates, he will not have to sit (assuming he did not graduate from Texas before coming here). There are two opportunities to transfer without sitting out -- the one-time exception and the graduation exception

He has finished his Masters. Not sure how that affects his status but his head coach got fired so I think the odds of a waiver would be very good.

So is there any real chance that Spencer Rattler is actually coming to nebraska?
