Nebraska 2018 Recruiting Class Breakdown, Strength, Star, What's Missing
by Pete Fiutak, CollegeFootballNews.com

Overview
Scott Frost is doing what he can to crank up a big recruiting class with little time to work, and it all seems to be going well early on.

He might not be getting the sure-thing next-level stars quite yet, but he's been able to keep most of the recruits interested in the program before. He's also getting in to talk with a whole slew of good prospects after working his magic at UCF.

It's really all about the 2019 class as the Huskers look ahead with Frost thinking for the future, but this class is mostly about getting faster and more athletic.

There aren't a lot of linemen, and the linebackers aren't there, but he's signing on athletes with the versatility to move where needed, and again, it's about trying to find speed, speed and speed to match up with the philosophies and styles.

The Nebraska Class Is Heavy On (so far)...........wide receivers
Frost was able to convert options for talented targets from the south into Nebraska targets. He's getting a 6-6 matchup nightmare in Justin McGriff out of Tampa, and a 6-3, 220-pound defensive back problem in Katerian LeGrone out of Atlanta. The key is Dominick Watt out of Miami -- he's a true No. 1 target in the near future, wanted by Florida, Miami, and of course, UCF.

The Star of the Nebraska Class Is...............QB Adrian Martinez
He was in before Frost signed on, and now he's the perfect fit for what the new coaching staff wants to do. He's a big, athletic passer who's mobile enough to take off, but should use his skills as a passer even more. Oklahoma wanted him, and Georgia was interested, and several Pac-12 schools wanted the Fresno, California native. Expect him to compete for the starting job right out of the gate.

The Biggest Depth Chart Hole is........linebacker
Two of the top three tacklers -- Chris Weber and Marcus Newby -- are gone, and there weren't any linebackers signed on in the Early Signing Period. Just about everyone is back on the defensive front, but the pass rush has to be a whole lot better. A few defensive linemen are signed on, with Tate Wildeman out of Colorado the best one to potentially make a splash right away.
