A while back they did so much intentional holding on O and D and other cheap stuff, I dropped my opinion down from what yours is. Shouldn't just do as much as you can get away with; becauseI'm actually a little bummed for MSU. They're probably my second favorite team in the BIG, after the Huskers of course. I think Dantonio is a class act and has really put MSU on the map in a way that they haven't seen in a long time, if ever. I always look forward to the MSU match up. I always know it's going to be a good hard fought football game, between two exceptional programs. So for Dantonio and MSU I hope it passes quickly, because I do pull for them unless they're playing us. And especially pull for them when they're playing that other school from the same state.
I share some of your feelings through our series with Sparty. Dantonio's teams have been tough. He's seemingly been rising up in the CFB world. He seems a great guy and a respectful competitor. He reminds me of Osborne in demeanor. It's sad to see some of these things.I'm actually a little bummed for MSU. They're probably my second favorite team in the BIG, after the Huskers of course. Actually I wouldn't mind seeing some of that kind of attitude from the Huskers. This ain't intramurals brotha.A while back they did so much intentional holding on O and D and other cheap stuff, I dropped my opinion down from what yours is. Shouldn't just do as much as you can get away with; because
IIRC, the Pelini years were rife with OL undiscipline... and it only served to kill us.Actually I wouldn't mind seeing some of that kind of attitude from the Huskers. This ain't intramurals brotha.
Almost all of that undiscipline was in the form of motion penalties, including falling back on a Cotton butt, and a few obvious take downs after getting beat. If the refs aren't calling holding on the line, then we need to be holding instead of complaining about the no-calls.IIRC, the Pelini years were rife with OL undiscipline... and it only served to kill us.
I hope i am understanding you correctly... is our OL needing to make those sly attempts? I heard when we joined the B10, that this was a league that let the teams fight it out, without ticky tack penalties . If we begin to hold, are we sure other B10 teams are holding? Id prefer we play sound football.... and then beat them sound.Almost all of that undiscipline was in the form of motion penalties, including falling back on a Cotton butt, and a few obvious take downs after getting beat. I agree. But the sad thing is that if the downward spiral continues, he might have to be fired just so MSU can project an image of making a fresh start.Feel bad for Dantonio because I think he is an excellent coach who has transformed Sparty in to a formidable program.
Prior to Dantonio Sparty hasn't played with backbone since George Perles.
Go Blue!
Just remember... this could happen to us too. So don't gloat. It is just a sad, sad situation. This is serious business. Lives are at stake.
