Mr Rogers

I get why all the constant bitching. It's deserved. It's also exhausting, pointless and adds to the misery of the whole MFing mess. Rhule is here next season, 100%. No amount of bitching will change that. Maybe I'm a moron for hoping for anything at this point, but I hope we make a bowl game and I hope Rhule improves in many areas.
Dude is set in his ways......we can always hope.

The definition of insanity fits exactly what we have been doing as a fan base. Calling for new coaches after 2 seasons.

Let it play out. There is good things that can blossom if we just stop with all of this other BS. To be honest this program needs less limelight to maybe have time to rebuild.
You know what if they didn't make the same damn mistakes every week. Blocking WTF. If a employee can't do it get someone who can.

Yeah, we align on a lot of thoughts. The angst is understood, but the nonstop out loud whining is exhausting…..and even a little pathetic. I’m not gonna live in that headspace. Considering how bad this roster has been over the last several years, I think we’ve made obvious strides in that area over the last 2 years. I believe the results will come. I’m as guilty as anyone with regard to expecting DR to be consistently good. For the most part, that expectation is absurd for a true freshman QB…..but that’s on me. The Satt issue is one that I also hope is rectified for good. Let’s go get a W this week and worry about what comes next after that.

not only is this not true, it makes no sense.

fans calling for change after 22 games is a market reaction to the product coming off the assembly line.

nobody was calling for Frost to be fired after year 2. most weren't even calling for his head after year 4.

DR has been pretty good all season. I've been impressed with him.

why our coaching staff thought throwing him to the wolves with the entire program on his back was our best plan of action is a mystery.

Yeah, I still have no doubt about his future. Everyone wanted him to be great right from the jump, and for a true freshman, he did. But as the competition and opponents scheming got better, we have not. Dana is hopefully finding a way to call plays based on our talent and not the opposite. Ya know, maybe not run Fidone out there on routes that require YAC to be successful.

no. that would be pointless.

he will be allowed to complete 4 years here at minimum.

I post my observations here. there are countless contradictions in what Rhule has said and what Rhule has done during his time here.

to me, Rhule's obvious lack of either vision or conviction are a gigantic red flag for someone in his position.

we have no identity because he has no identity.

I'm glad Holgorsen is here and hope he stays. I look forward to more difficult conversations this off-season with both staffers and players.

going into Year Three, I finally expect significant roster turnover - something Rhule's contemporaries accomplish in months.

none of the stuff I discuss here is "Old Man Yelling At Cloud". I said repeatedly during the off-season that Rhule's wishy washy late game stuff has to stop. that his atrocious game management needs to improve. that it's costing us games. that he HAS to get better.

fast forward to 10 games into Year 2 here and Year 10 of him being a head man and we're seeing the exact same basic stuff get flubbed when the lights are on and we need a steady hand. we have nothing to turn to or count on when the going gets tough.

fans need to show patience for an experienced coach to learn when to call timeout? I disagree with you there.

nobody expects us to go undefeated. everybody expects us to stop inflicting ourselves with mortal wounds week after week. I don't think this is at all unfair.

How the fvck did we get Mr Roger's as head coach. This team is soft like him. So he hired a hard ass OC because he is a pvssy. Thanks Trev you fvxking asshole.

You will be fine i know some here want to limit opposing views....
Tell me why we are paying another coach huge money to learn on the job?

I just don't get this. So you aren't calling for him to be fired? Then why do all this? I assumed it was to further the agenda of moving on from a coach you don't want. But you are calling the coach a pussy, and a liar, ripping every single decision and comment to shreds, trying to rile up a lynch mob at every turn, and you don't even want him fired? To me, that is the stuff you do when you think it is beyond repair, and it is absolutely time to move on. Why create such a toxic environment otherwise?

Just imagine if he wanted him fired...

Rhule is a liar. His actions constantly contradict his words. This is not a contrived narrative, it's an accurate observation.

Rhule's decisions, especially with regards to staffing and in-game management, deserve to be ripped. They're bad. Like, really bad. And frankly indefensible.

Wanting him gone and understanding he's not going anywhere is nuanced thinking - something this board is mostly unfamiliar with - which is what I'm employing.

The people who want him gone won't get their wish anytime soon. The people, like me, who want him to do basically everything better just might. Doubtful, but not impossible. Understanding how to use timeouts and when to challenge plays are fairly basic things, after all.

As usual, the things I'm saying are clear, obvious and not all that controversial. A large majority agree with what I say. How can you not? It's verifiable fact for the most part.

Their (like your) issue is with how & how often I say it. "Toxic" is in the eye of the beholder.

So why not say this in the first place. Very few would disagree with your sentiment here. But at the same time the constant bashing of Rhule and his program leads one to believe that you want to reboot it all again.

We get it... Things aren't where they should be.

I just don't think calling out the HC at every turn, and creating drama where there isn't (Rhule sleeping on the job), does anything to help the situation. It comes off as you and others taking pleasure in the failure of yet another head coach.

I still can’t get over him not trying to win at the end of the Wisconsin game last year. Never saw anyone pass up an opportunity to win and instead play for a tie and overtime.
Are you exaggerating or have you truly never seen someone tie and go to OT?

In 2 years here we’ve been forced to fire at least one coach weeks prior to the season starting 100% of the time due to off-field transgressions.

In 50% of Rhule’s seasons here he neglected to hire a coach for the most important position in all of sports (QB).

Game management has led directly to losses. He was forced to make a change due to abhorrent and inexcusable on-field performance and the second new eyes get here it’s “why don’t you block? It’s embarrassing.”

10-12.

Nothing about Matt Rhule’s NU suggests “effective management”. Literally nothing.

None of the above has anything to do with frost or the fans.
You need to get laid.

this is what I say.

it's just not what people like you and @wkato read because my screen name is in front of it.

we need an identity. we need conviction. we need every waking breath from our head elf to lend itself to not just winning but winning the Matt Rhule Nebraska Way.

right now, I guarantee if you asked a random sample of people involved in the program what our identity is you will get a different answer from all of them.

that is a reboot, of sorts. and I'm very unsure Rhule is even capable of instilling anything he says he believes and wants to be in his team.

again, Rhule coming to work at 4:30am and being woken up by his QB 30 minutes later is a glimpse. and it's noteworthy. you would never, ever hear something like that happening with Jim Harbaugh or Mike Tomlin or countless others who understand that winning is a byproduct of unwavering and unrelenting belief and leadership.

football is the closest thing we have to simulated war. Rhule is our general. who the F is he inspiring? certainly not me and apparently not his team.

The fact that you believe this is telling. Sure we all agree that things should be better and Rhule has not met our expectations to date. However, you say the most outrageous things that only the craziest fringe could possibly agree with, and on this board some of those aren't even actually Nebraska fans.

You aren't just saying we need to be better in the red zone offensively, or need a better offensively philosophy, or recruiting strategy, or better position coaches. You are making wild personal accusations and creating strange conspiracy theories left and right.

I am saying we need a better offensive philosophy. Have been saying that since Week 0, 2023. Rhule says he wants to be physical and trots out finesse, pass-happy offenses for two straight years.

I am saying we need better position coaches. Been saying that for 2 years now. Our OL coach is a joke just like every one of his offensive assistant peers.

Yes, I comment on Rhule's looks. Yes, I noted the fact he came to work and went to sleep on the floor of his office. These things don't exist in a vacuum. If you're going to be an ugly, paunchy Nice Guy, guess what - not a lot of tough guys are going to want to follow you into battle unless you're capable of somehow otherwise inspiring them.

The personal fouls he racked up earlier this season were another attempt to inspire that's fallen flat. And another example of Rhule completely abandoning who he is and what he's about. People - players included - see right through that stuff.

List one conspiracy theory I created.

Just one.

Im going to guess that you voted for a guy similar to what you are describing on the very first and 2nd line. I would think that that correlation alone would give you some patience and understanding with regards to the highest profile job in the state.

This is what I find funny with some of you guys. You don't apply the same standard to many of the people that you believe are supreme leaders. Tremendous leaders. Bold leaders. Tough guy leaders.

I've been to practice. I've seen Rhule chew ass, and expect perfection. Your anger is misguided.
It’s not hard to find videos of Rhule “hard coaching”. Unless you don’t want to find things that contradict your BS narrative.

Lane Kiffin was on Cowherd yesterday explaining how he handles the transfer portal. Basically, you can take some questionable locker room guys, but you can't too many and you have to have them at a position group that is mature and stable.

He also had an interesting take on why he plans to stay in CFB. Said in CFB you get rewarded for winning. Winning equals better recruiting. In the NFL winning gets you higher draft picks. I think they also give you a harder schedule?
They do. It’s much more of a business than CFB, though that gap is closing.

literally nothing about Rhule's program appears organized or well-oiled.

literally nothing.

glad you enjoy hearing him speak. it's clear most everyone else has heard enough and wants to see it on the field.

you do this pig-headed thing where you damn the torpedos (reality) and put your foot in the ground about certain people, insisting that reality isn't reality and anyone who uses their eyes and brain is being emotional.

same exact script with purdy (he'll be a UDFA! nope, he's a Mountain West benchwarmer on a terrible team) now repeating itself with our head elf.
I disagree.

I have no idea what this means. I don't have a narrative about Rhule.

I have witnessed it first hand in practice. I don't need a video. You can coach hard without losing your shit on your players If that's what you're referencing.

fans have a right to bitch and complain, and those of you who are upset that people bitch and complain, are weak losers.. you all coddle the program and protect those that damage it.. the fans indeed are part of the problem, but it's not whom you think it is..

I sure wish it was possible to fire fans.. a whole lot of you weak minded individuals would be gone.

That this Football team reflects the Head coach and staff. They play soft, scared, indecisive mistake prone football.
They have been doing that for 15 years. Now you want to blame Rhule for that? I agree that we need to sharpen this edge. I think we need a no-nonsense assistant who can help with that. Maybe it's Holgerson. Remains to be seen. Bottom line is...Rhule is the CEO and face of this program. He can't come off as a maniacal madman. Despite what some want to see from their leaders....in the long term steady and calculated wins the race.

No. I'm just not going to worry over things I have no control over. We hired Rhule to rebuild the program. Sure, we'd like win sooner rather than later. If you can't stand the process then just check out until Rhule's contract is over. Hopefully, we will turn the corner soon. I'm not going to sweat yesrs one and two. It does make it hard as a fan though.
yesrs? you just invented a new word. I like it!

I agree with you. Not sure who's suggesting they want a maniac running the show.

Rhule's 2 years here have seemed anything but steady/calculated, however, and that's precisely where my lack of vision/conviction comments are aimed.

Yeah, I can't help if it you're too stupid to notice that the people sick and tired of all the pointless bitching and moaning are not endorsing Rhule or his accomplishments. It's a subtle concept some can't grasp. You sound like a Karen whining about your fast food order taking too long. You can take the weak loser talk and shove it up your ass.

I contend that I will uphold my end of the bargain here. While my bitching is far from pointless, it's my pledge to aim to do less of it.

should any heightened bitching take place over the next two weeks, I am presenting this for context:
