Probably more of a stacked WR room than anything else. The last time we converted a highly touted WR recruit to RB it didn't go so well. I hope this is based on his choice not out of need because the RB room isn't where it needs to be.
Need some depth at RB, looking forward to seeing Mozze skill coming out of the backfield.

He was recruited as an athlete who had the potential to play several positions. I think they want another guy in that room who can be a big play threat as a receiver out of the backfield. The last time we converted a highly touted WR recruit to RB it didn't go so well. We don't expect this to be a full-time move for what it's worth. Since Mozee committed both @Steve Marik and I have stated that Mozee has the ability to take handoffs out of the backfield. I expect he operates more like Wan'Dale did back when he was here with Frost, lining up out wide and taking a few snaps from the backfield as well.
DuckR. That’s a term I really would rather never hear again. Screw the Ducks.
I still like the name "wingback"DuckR. That’s a term I really would rather never hear again. Screw the Ducks.
If I remember correctly, Mozee played WR and RB in high school. He was looked at as a Deebo Samuel type of weapon. So wherever he can play as long as he can get on the field is fine with me.The last time we converted a highly touted WR recruit to RB it didn't go so well. They seriously should bring back the wingback. What a weapon that position was. Lined up just about everywhere. I think back in the days of Curtis Craig, the wingback would get a few carries each game.I still like the name "wingback"

Can he return punts??? Please! If I remember correctly, Mozee played WR and RB in high school. He was looked at as a Deebo Samuel type of weapon. So wherever he can play as long as he can get on the field is fine with me.
Seems like back in the late 70's/early 80's, Tom would run I-formation with the wingback tight just off the line of scrimmage. And he'd run that inside reverse to the WB. Always seems to gain good yardage.Dana Brinson and the wingback reverse.
Service academies still carving up opponents with the WB inside counterSeems like back in the late 70's/early 80's, Tom would run I-formation with the wingback tight just off the line of scrimmage. And he'd run that inside reverse to the WB. Always seems to gain good yardage.
Dad being a coach on staff and a former d1 rb, I would imagine he had a lot of input.Anyone even bringing up Wandale Robinson under Frost needs to pump the brakes. This will be a totally different offense with more weapons and infinitely better functionality. Dana already showed he won’t be lining up a Mozee to run up the middle on the goal line. 😑
With his dad being on staff, I’ve gotta think this decision was anything but forced on him. It will be a way to get him on the field earlier because of RB depth issues and use his talents. Dad and son were probably all for that. I don’t think it will stunt his growth as a WR should that be what the NFL sees him at. Or he becomes a Ty Montgomery/Antonio Gibson type. Should be fun to watch!
