LOL. ALL of my stuff fit in one suitcase when I moved in other than the pillow and a sleeping bag I used for a blanket.
never had a TV in undergrad. Can't remember even watching TV in undergrad. All I did was study until I was old enough to go to the bars and then I would study until 10 or so then hit Uncle Sam's or the Water Hole some nights.
How did you fit a mini fridge and 4 cases of Old Mill in your suitcase?

mmmm. Sure. As far as anyone knows. Drinking age was 19 back then but I had WAY too much fun in high school. It didn't involve TV.
It was a graduation present. I think my folks were telling me to hit the road.

I didn't own a mini fridge until i was a junior. I had buddies that would buy a dozen cases of Old Mill when it went on sale at N street liquor. The fridge was for braunschweiger and Velveeta

Ah, yes, who could forget Hormel Chili warmed up in the popcorn popper. MREs were haute cuisine in comparison.
We used to hit that place on the north side of O around 20th??? I was on east campus our place was that store at 48th and Holdrege. I think it's a smoke shop now but that place made tons of $$
I always love how poor we all were in college. Each year that goes by, we get poorer and poorer.
Everything went to heck after they made you give them id on kegs. That sucked. We had our dorm rooms so the mirror/medicine cabinet would pull out from adjoining rooms. The kegs would be in the neighboring room but the party in the other room. Yes everyone had a glass of beer 🍺 but RA couldn't bust you. Genius as long as you were quiet.....which unfortunately only lasted so long
There was this white brick stand alone store, you know what, maybe it was 14th and R...
It just sold tobacco and booze.

It's still there. One of my older brothers worked there in the 70s and was friends with the original owner. We used to wait until late in the evening and call in an odd ball pizza order to go. We would wait a half an hour or so after the time they would give us to pick it up and then go over and buy it at half price as an "unclaimed" pizza. Sometimes we would just show up before they closed to check and see if there was an unclaimed sitting on the rack. Nothing like leftover shrimp pizza for breakfast that had sat out overnight on your desk.....
1 post about 2 new recruits moving in (OP). Then 1 post about a player from last year moving. The remaining 29 posts reminiscing about college life from 30-40 years ago. This is what makes the board enjoyable. And I mean that sincerely.

No video games back then. We had one console TV in my house with a roof top antenna that got channel 8 and channel 10.
Yeah we did that too. Worked once in awhile but not reliable. Usually wound up having to order a domino's death disk
