There was never a Texass OU game bigger in the history of of college football than the 1971 Nebraska Oklahoma game.

To us, yes.

You ask an average college football fan under the age of 50, “what’s the game of the century” and I guarantee less than half mention that matchup.

I just googled “game of the century CFB” and the first page had no mention of it.

“No I swear OU fans really like us” is a weird hill to die on and just not rooted in the 21st century reality.

You know what their common response to their terrible season this year was? “I just hope we don’t become Nebraska”

My personal perspective… Texas and CU fans are bad, really bad, but they have at least accomplished something. Won some championships and at least some of their fans can act like they’ve been there before. The creature commonly known as the “iowa fan” is just as bad as Texas and CU fan, accept they never even won a rec league flag football tournament. Additionally, iowa fan is overall trashier and very poorly informed on all things, especially football. Their ignorant lack of self awareness, coupled with their low economic and social status, all rolled up in old school B1G biases and misconceptions (and 100 years of losing) creates a horribly unique fan monster that is unrivaled. These “people” are literally the flat earthers of sports fans.

Just curious… do any of us believe that these scathing and factually based rebukes of iowa fan will inspire any of them to self reflect and change? While unlikely, IMO, we should still do the right thing and hold up a mirror to their depraved behavior whenever possible. If we can make even one iowa fan a better person, even in a small way, we can make the world a better place for everyone. Just thinking out loud, carry on…
