Most national predictions; probably think 9-3 would be good for N

Face it guys we got hosed in that game, and it was the only game in history where I feel the refs beat Nebraska
Penn State '82 or FSU '94 ring a bell? There are always going to be controversial plays in tight games, and the HC has to be able to deal with it.

The controversial calls in both those goames would be overturned by replay now. The A&M game controversy was about a blatant disparity in penalties, particularly judgment calls.

Instant replay review changes how the officials influence the game, but it happened before instant replay, it happens now, and it will happen in the future.

The key factors for me are:

1. How Gung-ho is Riley when transitioning to the more pro-style offense. I don't think the transition will be as rough as Solich to Callahan. However, our QBs have a ways to go. I could see the offense struggling early on in the Big Ten season.

2. Is Banker another Cosgrove who is decent only once in a while, average most of the time, and frightening bad when things go bad? Or is he a guy who could bloom with greater resources and recruits?

I wouldn't be shocked if the team finishes with fewer than 9 wins. The bar is still set at that level. I'm looking for better fundamentals, greater staff organization, less mind-numbing errors, and greater effort in recruiting.
