Most disappointing thing about this season....

You do realize Cooter Ray is a Nebraska fan right? I'm not, see transitive property post above. Not 8 either but an 8 year old would realize that one play does not make a season.

Good luck in your bowl game against the Vols though, represent the B1G. And if you win it, maybe they will award you a National Championship based upon what ifs, but ifs, and a real qb. Oh yeah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Tampa.

This is one of the many frustrating things about the product our team and coaches put on the field against Iowa. When they play like a bunch of girls, we get sh*t from a team like Iowa. This guy/chick/(insert whatever multiple options we recognize today) can talk smack against us because Iowa completely owned us in every phase of the game and we have to simply take it.

Like Iowa. That says it all right there.

And then throw in Iowa fans having to deal with Nebraska fans on the Iowa rivals board talking smack all year until the game on Friday. Of course the Iowa mods allow all the crap your fans spew but if Iowa fans come over here, your thinned skinned mods delete posts or block posters. I'm waiting for my posts to disappear. I'm sure you have heard the old saying, "you Reap what you Sow".

I agree with the 2 first responses. I will add the bowl game if its another blowout. From all of us that live in Tennessee, I just hope its a close game and all the fans can get along.

The two blowouts sucked all of the air out of the season. We knew we didn't dominate any early opponent, but we were winning through October and gaining national respect in the polls. Now we're back to being a joke -- the program that draws crowds like a big boy but is irrelevant on the field.

The OT drive against Wisconsin......We had a big chance to take a step forward.

Same here. It's rarely discussed but how that game ended, from an offensive standpoint, confirmed to me Langsdorf had zero faith in Tommy and his calls showed it.
I have never seen anyone so proud of going to the Outback Bowl.

Iowa fan, you should expect it.

we were the 3rd best team in the division ... there is no way that the 3rd place team in one division is going to beat the champion in other division in the CCG. The next thing you are going to tell me is that we would run jet sweep against them relentlessly and hang 70 on them
That is your opinion. It does not happen to be mine. Remember... my hypothetical scenario has us with a much better QB than Armstrong. And in that scenario I think we would have had a good chance of beating PSU. Yes. Oh... and if we are playing PSU for the title we would not be the third best team in our division, but the best team. Mock me all you want, but a good QB can make all the difference in the world. We were one or two good QB plays away from beating Wisky. Period.

If that and you did beat PSU then you would be in the play offs. Might as well say you are 2016 National Champions then by beating Alabama with jet sweeps and hanging 70 on them. Thanks for the laughs.

No you're wrong, if we would have been 10-2 beating Wisconsin and losing like we did against tOSU and Herky beating Penn St would have put us in the Rose Bowl just like Penn St now.

I think I was being too obtuse .... it was a tongue in cheek comment about the last time a 3rd place team played a div champ in the CCG (Wisc vs Neb) and the 3rd place team hung 70 on us .. just having some fun (not mocking you) ... I agree with your premise that if we had a div 1 QB on the roster who was eligible to play we would have been a much better team

Ha. Yes. I think I was the one being obtuse in not seeing your humor. Well done...

For me it was the lack of progress of a 5th year senior QB as far as his decision making in the passing game and the zone read game. Also his brand of leadership seemed more divisive than uplifting. It's sad to see our senior receivers leaving wondering what could have been if they had a QB that could deliver the ball on time in the proper location. Also to see him fighting with a receiver during the Iowa game told me all I need to know. Just amplifies why he wasn't a captain.

Word. Lee will at the very least have more respect from his teammates, and heck i bet he even completes at least a paltry 55% of his passes.
However, the most disappointing thing was by far that iowa game. No excuses, that was unacceptable.

Blow outs, recruiting (yet to be finalized but the vibe I get is not overly optimistic), and like redwine stated the failure of the powers to be (including Tom Osborne) to choose head coaches.... they chose poorly

Choose poorly? I recall several coaches turning down the job. I think they chose right, its just that their choice said no.

One play. TA not keeping on the ZR in overtime against Wisky. If we get a first down there, maybe we score. Assuming Brown kicks the PAT, we win. Then maybe the game against OSU would have been a respectable loss, and maybe the IA game would have been different. And then I liked our chances against PSU. One first down a season made.
Just keep on thinking that...one first down would NOT have changed the OSU or Iowa outcome, 62-3 and 40-10 still happen.

It is a great time on the gulf coast side, especially Clearwater Beach, much better than Nashville. But hey, what do I know. Good luck in your bowl vs Tennessee, represent the B1G well. I think you guys will compete, even with all your injuries and Gerry being out due to stupidity - literally. Time for the younger guys to step up and lead.

Tennessee is pretty bad. I see us losing a close one, I also see a coaching change for NU in 2019. The hire doesn't feel right. Never did from day one. I have watched two practices. I have seen elementary students have a harder, more physical practice than what I saw on the field on those two days. Very sad.

Wow. You saw two whole practices? You are an expert then! Thanks so much for bringing your deep insights into Riley's practices to the board. I feel so much more informed now.

Donald, don't you have better, more important things to do. Very sad.

In all fairness to both parties, UNL hasn't seen a bowl better than the Holiday in 15 years.
