so he evidently had a belly full of radio and TV. He put out a resume out on a social media site. Must want to make some real money. I think he's going to get a rude awakening of what it's like to have to suck up to people to try to get their money. Insurance or investment sales? Car sales?? Would some company hire him to run their PR/Advertising department?

I liked Severe. A little too nerdy and clowny, but was a nice guy juxtaposed to Damon.

Sharp sounds super varnished in comparison. Not local so don't know all the historical particulars.

Just wish Damon would talk into the mic.

Mike'l seems to have a need to move on to something new about every 3 years or so. But, that might just be life as a radio personality.

Wait when did be leave the show with Benning?

Might actually start listening again… couldn’t stand Severe. He tries too hard to be funny and just isn’t. It seems like his feelings get hurt when his humor doesn’t land, then he reverts to acting like a tough guy to make up for it. No I’m not a psychologist, just the impression I get about him.

My best guess is Severe went to his boss asking for more money. Boss said no. He left. If you are looking to retire on a boat in the South Pacific, local radio in the Omaha market is a bad choice - just below Art History major.

I like Severe, wish him well!

I'd think he'd be able to land a sales-type job in the area and do well. If Travis Justice can do it, so can Severe!

Oh, cool. Might have to listen to 1620 again. Didn’t know this. Severe was an irritating blowhard imo and refused to listen to 1620 for a few years. They have a couple others there I wouldn’t mind seeing leave either. I do like Gary, though. I think he’s good. I wish he was on in the evening.
You can say John and Josh...

He’s just too talented for the Midwest market
Sounds like he wants to get out of TV and radio. I like the guy. I suspect his political leanings are way to the left of me but I never recall him voicing his personal political views on the radio. To each his own.

What do you think on air talent in Lincoln is making a year? 45K ??
That may even be a little high. That is part of the mysticism. There is solid potential around here for an ESPN affiliated station that brings in some notable local legends and ex-players that are actually capable of being on the radio. The fact that The Ticket can exist as poorly ran as it is, with as little on and off-air talent as they have, has me convinced it could be done much better around here. Maybe there are licensing issues or something.

Oh he's gone from the morning show? So sad....so very very sad. Now what on earth will I do with a sports show who doesn't have a host inserting his shitty political hot takes into everything?

No joke I'm glad Sharp is back. He and Damon are a really great duo in my opinion.

He definitely inserted his politics multiple times to the point that I stopped listening. I don't care what your politics are, keep them out of sports. Inserting politics into every form of escapism that we have from the day to day drudge makes life depressing.

Who was the tool that did sports radio in Omaha like early Pelini years? Maybe it was Callahan years. God he was annoying and hated Nebraska.
