Feels like more than a tweak or two to some coordinators to me. That whole program is in shambles
It's probably pretty rare when a team fires both coordinators during the season.
This is FSU's opportunity to swoop in and buy out Marcus Satterfield.

It’s unprecedented, but so is going 1-9 coming off a 13-1 season.
Seems like a weird move if that’s the case. They only have 2 games left and 1 of them is probably a win. Unless there were some contract implications that saved money to get them cut now. If they are planning to fire him, I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just wait a few weeks and can them all. Otherwise it feels much more like trying to get a jump on the market

Yep! Dude is HOPING they keep him for another year...and really next year no matter what will be better so he probably can get 2 more years.

It seems like you would literally have to try to lose to be 1-9 off of 13-1.
If you could trade two 5-7 seasons for a 13-1 followed by a 1-11 would you?

For some in here yes it is that important. For me it used to be.
It's a move to save his ass. He has to show the AD he is serious about turning things around and being 1-8 he has no choice. I don't actually understand why you would wait until after the season when it's clear that nothing is improving.
I really think it was a smart move by Mickey Joseph to fire Chinander after the OU game. The team played better after that even if it's only 3-5 in the remaining games. The defense was a complete disaster the first 4 games, particularly against OU. It appeared that Chinander didn't even care to disguise his schemes.
Callahan kept Cosgrove until the bitter end. It was clear the defense quit on him midseason. Again, I don't understand the fear of 'shaking things up'.
I don't see a reason to hold onto Satterfield unless there is something profound we don't know.
