Good luck in New York. Youre gonna need it.
Well he coached in Philly with the Eagles so he should be ok

Kind of annoys me that everyone always brings up former Husker greats to coach the DL but no one ever brings up Demoine Adams.
I'm pretty sure Demoine is the head of Tom Osborne's TeamMates Youth Mentoring Program now.Kind of annoys me that everyone always brings up former Husker greats to coach the DL but no one ever brings up Demoine Adams.
I would take Carriker in a heartbeat. The guy is football smart for sure. Just has not experience coaching or recruiting. He has husker fire and passion and sometimes that is better than any coaching experience.Give me some A. Carriker

I am saying he probably won't quit his day jobYou think it will be a smooth transition then?

To be honest I thought the dline was the MOST underwhelming position on the field. Fisher took a much maligned secondary, one that scared the shit out of frost and turned it into our best unit...we had two corners who were tops in the league in pass breakups and effectively shutdown the last few teams on the schedule. The dline was a sieve and was supposed to be a strong point...of course injuries hurt, but we didn't see guys grow into leaders and we had them gifting blackshirts more for morale than as earned objects. Dawson seems to be the one guy that didn't fit, energy-wise, on the recruiting trail, with the media, and consequently I think that is why we saw little growth with his unit. Which happens to be the most important unit on the field. And look at how recruiting went on the dline...obviously anytime you lose a coach it sucks but Frost has a great chance to bring in a guy that matches the talent he has coaching at other positions.
Oh c’mon some of you Huskers, there are many places & even more good people. Grow up please & become pleasant Nebraskans! What a shithole. Up there with Chicago and Cleveland.

You are hilarious. Guess you travel in a bubble!Been all over the world. Call it like I see it. Perspective, I see those cities with corruption in their governments and law enforcement. They are dirty with failing infrastructure and failing education. I should grow up? You need to pull your head out of your ass. Hows that for pleasant?
I actually like New Jersey. The cities are “ick”, that is true, but the Jersey shore is a blast and the vast pine barrens region in the south central part of the state is a fantastic place to hike and camp and fish. In the Northwest and north central you have some really nice forested mountain areas. Not the caricature of New Jersey people have in their headsPhilly is gross. So close to New Jersey. Ick.
As someone who spent 6 years in CT, I understand that a lot of people live in the Northeast. It must have something to offer. It's home for Mike Dawson. Dude grew up in Mass and spent the majority of his life there. He already has a pro job on his resume. For a guy like him, a chance to coach for the Giants is a pretty big deal. I doubt he'll miss the pheasant hunting.I actually like New Jersey. What I am interested in is whether anyone has a bead on possible Dawson replacements that are not named Carriker, Peter or Wistrom. Actual potential candidates.
Did Dawson get a top 100 player to NU or did the family ties to the state? Obviously Dawson built a relationship and that had to be done. Obviously his players like him. I'm sure Frost will find an equal or better replacement. The D line under performed IMO. Some of it was injury. Some of it was learning a new scheme. But in at least one player's case it seems that a fire didn't get lit under his butt to perform and yet we kept sending him back out there perhaps due to a lack of depth at DE. In any case, Dawson's a good guy and he's headed back closer to home in the NFL. Good for him.I mean from day 1 Frost said team strength and conditioning was pathetic, what position more than D line would highlight that weakness? Kind of a raw deal to coach a team for one season and be a scapegoat. Dawson should have 2-3 yrs under his belt before making preformance reviews but that shipped has sailed.
But not being a good recruiter, that’s a head scratcher as well, yes it was a group effort for Ty but ulitimately a position coach is a large part, dude got got a Top 100 player to Nebraska...
“I picked Ty Robinson to Nebraska this week,” Christopherson said on the 247Sports Recruiting Podcast. “It’s a pick I’d been thinking about for a while, really dating back to the spring when Ty Robinson first visited Nebraska. He had a very successful visit from all accounts. He has a very strong relationship from everything we hear with the D Line coach Mike Dawson.

Demo is a stud. He’s second in command at Teammates, he does motivational speaking, and trains athletes at his gym. He can handle a full plate just fine. He travels all the time already and has connections to many schools. He can make a connection to about anyone regardless of age or color. His family dynamic growing up along with his wife and kids today has given him experience with kids from different backgrounds. One of the best men I know. He’d be an awesome dline coach. I need to make a phone call.Kind of annoys me that everyone always brings up former Husker greats to coach the DL but no one ever brings up Demoine Adams.
But wasn't Kirk a oline guy?I think we should offer the position to Kirk Ferentz. I think he has finally earned the right to be a position coach for a blue blood program .
I'm not sure Tony feels like being in Vegas is being stuck. That said, there's a long list of guys who would be great fits at NU and who are going to want the job. It will be interesting to see who Frost wants. I would expect him to want somebody who already has experience in Chin's system.Tony Samuel? People want to talk about all of these great Husker great ex-players but why not bring in a guy who coached a ton of AA in Lincoln? He’s stuck in Vegas. Bring the guy back. He’s done well here and still has some years left. Not sure how well Frost knows him, he was a player Tony’s last 2 years in Lincoln, but this could be a good fit
You are hilarious. Guess you travel in a bubble!
Nevertheless , enjoy the planet that all of us have inherited. GBR!!
Hey fellow Vet, I have been all over the globe myself. No need to explain. I like Panama, and ..I don't like those cities. There are beautiful areas in those states however. I guess I'm a bit of a hayseed.

75th Ranger Reg baby. You know what, I get paid for being nuts, I dont have PTSD, im just not right in the head. The govt just wants to pay me to go away. On a good note, they take care of me big time..I'm glad to hear it.
Anyone have any guess as far as a time table to hire a new guy? I would assume Frost doesn't want to just hired any guy. He will want to interview and make sure the guy is well qualified and also a good fit. I would also think he would want to get this done ASAP as spring ball is right around the corner.
BOOM!Kenechi Udeze just started following a lot of Nebraska accounts on Twitter, including Ruud and Nate Clouse. He was let go by USC, but is known as a top recruiter. Ty Robinson loved him.
Bama's DL coach recently followed Coach Frost on Twitter too. But he makes a lot more than our current position coaches, so I doubt he'll be leaving Bama.
