Ummm I have to question that. Welker runs away from DBs. Westercamp not so much. I don't know when or where Welker's 40 time is from, but he's certainly much faster than that now. I also would have to see Westercamp run a 4.5 at the combine to believe he runs a 4.5.

Welker ran away from DBs out of his breaks; it's not like he was running away from CBs on verts. Unreal quickness, but I trust the 40 time.

The problem you run into is where they ran their 40.

Amendola was 4.70 at the combine but 4.58 at his pro day.

Both Welker and Edelman times were at their pro day.

I would bet Westerkamp is in the 4.55 range at pro day. Which could very well be a 4.70 or slower at the combine.

There are a lot of variables including the surface and how they trained for the combine or their pro day. Heck I ran a 4.7 in pads on a cinder track back in the day....definitely hand held. I trust my eyes, and I don't think I've ever seen anybody run down Welker when he's completely healthy. Amendola certainly looks awfully fast in pads. I think Westercamp is fast enough to be successful in the NFL if he gets a chance but I don't think he's ever been a legit 4.5 flat guy.

I was just posting times as they are listed.

Very rarely does a WR just take off running as fast as he can. Especially in the slot. Route running plays a huge role when the receiver is in pads in game time situations. Making an out route look like a 9 route etc.

I will finish the sentence...(a lot of talent that) went 5-7, just two years ago, until a competent staff came in and developed them into NFL prospects that were am OT away (in the final regular season game) from being in the CFB playoffs.

I hope Westercamp gets a chance. Everybody knows he is Mr. Reliable. AMAZING hands. And he is as clutch as a player can be. He may not be the #1 reciever on a team but he's a solid reliable player. He has to land on a roster somewhere.

Yes. They can only move so many bodies through effectively. No reason to have a guy there that is not ready to showcase his talent.

FYI...Michigan has one invite who missed all but one half a game of the season with an injury (tried to get him a 6th year but was denied)...and a guy who had a torn ACL in our bowl game...one will be there to prove he can still play and the other just for the interview process as he won't be ready to participate in drills...your opinion is far from fact

Agreed. Harbaugh is annoying, but his 2 losses last year were by 1 to Iowa (in a game where this Hawkeye fan admits Iowa had several things go its way to keep the game close throughout) and in OT, on the road, in Columbus. My guess is Harbaugh breaks through here at some point in the near future with a conference title and playoff appearance. He's in a division with one of the giants in college FB (Ohio State) and another program that's been sitting dormant ready to be good with a real coach (Penn State).

See, just like stated, there is a big difference. Westercamp did blow by guys a few times for catches and scores, always felt a little surprised.

That is a low number for sure, I was thinking Westy would receive an invitation, as well.

Iowa had 4 players invited and Wisconsin had 6. It is pretty apparent that Nebraska has just not had a lot of NFL caliber talent over the past several years. I hope some of these touted recruits pan out for Riley and company.

Note that Penn State also only had 2 players invited, and they won the B1G. I would guess their team this year was more underclassmen-heavy than Nebraska's was, likely as a result of the loss of scholarships a few years back.

Most of PSU's players will be back. The two invites were early entries.
