evacuating to Jonesboro with a bunch of football equipment is probably not he same.
So if they evacuate you think they are leaving their football equipment? They play FSU next weekend.evacuating to Jonesboro with a bunch of football equipment is probably not he same.

Another obvious drunk post. Why not leave ASAP then? Have the U kids stay some place safe for awhile vs battling Irma. Makes zero sense. Looks like some people just didn't want to bust their butts or spend extra $ on additional hotel stays. Miami never wanted to play this game and they found a reason out of it.

where do you live? have you ever been involved in a hurricane? or an evacuation prior to a hurricane?
I get the cancelling of the Arky St game. But given that the conference part of the season awaits and getting back to Coral Gables soon is not a lock, I would think they would be packing essential equipment on trucks and moving it with the team.
I wonder if ADs in the possible affected areas are looking at contingency sites for games. If the hurricane stays on it's current path, they won't be playing the game in Tallahassee either. We are talking 175 mph winds, that would be like an F4 hurricane moving at 15 mph for hours.

Something tells me if they were going to play a big-name school, they'd make alternate arrangements. But going to play at a school with a small stadium already has "trap" implications, and my guess is they didn't really try that hard to make alternate arrangements here. Canceling the game hurts Arkansas State a lot more than it does Miami.
Yes I have. While i lived in Texas. Also just helped my sister in Houston do it.where do you live? have you ever been involved in a hurricane? or an evacuation prior to a hurricane?
Obviously not. I have been thru this stuff.Another obvious drunk post.

Is it easy? No. Is it do-able? Yes.
Especially with the Canes, since I am sure they have their own means of travel.
So you want all the people associated with the football program to put a football game over the safety of their family? Get a grip, logistically it may be doable, but at what cost? Its a non conference game against Arkansas St. It has nothing to do with being afraid of an opponent and more to do with football not being all that damn important.
No, I want the football players to be safe & keep them out of harms way. What better way then to re-locate them to Jonesboro Arkansas. It only makes sense. Does everyone whose associated with the football program have to come? No. Coaches, players, & equipment managers. Everything else is really not that important.
But I do get your point about the team worrying about their families that may be in the area. But really what good does it do being their? Its kind of a dicey situation. You help all the kids by relocating them but you may hurt a few that needs to be there for their family.
You are changing your tune. Earlier it was because Miami was cheap and didn't want to pony up for hotels and that they looking for a way to get out of the game.
That was insensitive of me. But I am being 100% serious now. My bad.
but I do take some what offence to your post for assuming I have no idea what I am talking about. But take even more offence to hddude55's calling my post a drunk post. I've been thru this crap and its not fun, especially since that was an assumption on his part that was not a good one at all. That was very much a jerk move.
bottom line - The best plan of attack is to get the hell out of harms way. It makes perfect sense to relocate to Arkansas for it. It may be insensitive for me to say, better to help a few then none at all.
No offense, but there is no way in hell I would have got on a plane to safety and left my mom in the path of a Cat 5 hurricane.
Suddenly we got a board full of meteorologists and/or evacuation experts.
That's not true, I don't know shit about fixing cars and I've never flown a plane, either.says the guy that is the resident expert on EVERYTHING.
It appears the South Florida vs. UCONN game in East Hartford is being moved up to 10.30 a.m., Saturday from the original noon start time. Not sure what USF's plans are given this change. But at least they plan to play the game for now.
Not possible. I've already read from others on here its completely impossible to do or maybe they just actually want to play.
A jerk move for calling you out, huh, pal? Too bad you weren't drunk when you posted. At least you'd have an excuse for being a jerk. Your back pedaling doesn't change your original jerk comments on the subject. That was insensitive of me. But I am being 100% serious now. My bad.
