My wife and I are taking a vacation in 2 weeks. We will do the air boat on the Everglades and snorkeling in Key West. Anything that is a must see or do down there?

Besides South Beach Miami is a bit of a dump and pretty sketchy. South beach is expensive but the beach itself is nice and the water is amazing.

My favorite is the gulf coast of Florida. But spend most of your time in Key West if you can compared to Miami.

Key West - eat key lime pie. Enjoy all the great seafood. Climb the Key West Lighthouse. (I really like lighthouses.) Take insect spray to the Everglades. Have fun!

The airboat rides can be completely booked up on the day of... Might wanna look online and call ahead to book for the day your looking at. We went through the Everglades a couple of years ago thinking we could find a spot on a boat the day of but couldn't without a reservation. We stopped at four different places and they all were booked.

Just moved here recently (temporarily) I'd say bring an umbrella or two.. it doesn't just rain here, it's more like water being dumped on you. If you have dogs, don't let them mess with the frogs. Apparently some are very poisonous. It's very hot and humid here already, but I've been told the heat hasn't even started yet. Lots of variety of birds down here. Enjoy your trip.

Thanks!! Will bring umbrellas and we are leaving the dogs behind. We are using air bnb. We have used that service many times and love it. Guess we are staying by an orange orchard.

Guy Harvey's Island Grill and Shop was good eats and atmosphere. Its been about 7 years, but when we were there if you have gone out fishing, then you could bring in your fish you caught and have them grill/bake/fry it for you. Its on Green Street a block or maybe two off of Duval, if I recall correctly. Don't recall how pricey. Didn't seem out of line back then anyway.
There are few beaches, and those you find are relatively small. Public beach along south side of island was largest I recall. Some of the hotels have their own. One next to Southernmost on the Beach hotel was nice, but not very big. Definitely Mallory Square at sunset. And it gets pretty crowded along Duvall street when a cruise ship comes in -- oh, and several great ice cream stores along Duvall to hit. We also found a couple of pretty good Cuban restaurants, but I can't recall where those were - one closer to the south end and probably four or five blocks to the NE of Duvall. Last tip, if you have little kids, keep an eye out for open doors into some of the nightclubs on Duvall in the evening or you will be answering a question why there are guys or gals dancing in G strings on the bar. True story.
