The season boils down to 5 games;

Oregon, Wisconsin, NW, OSU and Iowa.

Go 3-2 in those games without crapping the bed in any of the others and it is a damn fine year. 4 of those 5 games are on the road - so 3-2 isn't going to be easy.

I really don't see the Ducks as that much of a threat but I'm probably wrong. I don't think they have the QB to make the team of 3 years ago and they are historically soft on D. I'm not sure how their OL is but if they can't run on our Front then I'm really not worried....provided TA doesn't throw 4 picks or we have a fumblefest with a couple short fields.

That said...if we do handle them in good fashion, in no way do I think that makes us world beaters at all.

I've actually kinda wondered how LiberalHunter handles the fact that probably 2/3 or better of the team that he roots for are the liberals he's going to be hunting someday.

Or that day by day, he lives and dies by the word of a young, most likely liberal leaning high school kid who is coming to save his team with his athletic ability.

On most forums, folks with a handle like LiberalHunter pride themselves on basically isolation from liberal folks, thoughts, and general existence, but on a football board, you'd basically be celebrating those very people.

I mean those questions in the most non-aggressive manner, I'm truly curious.

My friend at work is a general nervous nelly, and I'm unsure as how this season rolls out as anyone, but I like our chances in even the big games.

This could be an 11-1 type of season if things go right, my gut tells me.

Just off the top of my head I'd have to play the odds.

What percentage of the team is African American (or perhaps more relevant, the starters or star players that everyone knows and loves?). What percentage of the team came from underprivileged backgrounds of any ethnicity? What percentage of the team can be considered "young" relative to the voting age population?

Those are three key groups that are traditionally over-represented on college football teams. And yes I'm well aware of the snark associated with that last group. Those are all three groups that have a tendency to vote for liberal leaning politicians and support liberal causes.

Look, I'm not dumb, every kid on the football team is not a flaming liberal. But there's more than enough left leaning folks on any given football team to cause a guy who goes on a conservative forum complaining about all the liberals and how much he despises them, to look quite dumb when he's wearing the jersey of a more than likely liberal football hero of his.

Edit: And I'm not saying that LiberalHunter is a guy who is on conservativesforum.com talking about how he hasn't interacted with a liberal since the 60's. I'm just saying that his handle is such that, the juxtaposition of who he is rooting for and his political views I think is worth a good chuckle.
