Tigers take two straight from Oregon State to advance. Will get tonight's winner of the Florida-TCU game.

Hadn't heard this before about LSU closer Zack Hess:

The story of how Hess would up a budding star out of the LSU bullpen is in itself a bit nutty. Hess, a Virginia native, was a long-time Virginia Tech commitment. That changed when his father, Karl Hess, a long-time ACC referee, was unceremoniously removed from the conference’s officiating roster in 2015. The family decided not long after that Hess wouldn’t be taking his considerable talents to an ACC school.

So, the ACC finally decides that King Karl is such a stark-raving a-hole that they don't want him officiating basketball games anymore, so his son can't play baseball in the ACC? Can't say that surprises me in the least.

Kids can`t choose their parents. So far, Zach has been a monster closer.
Oh sure, I was not trying to imply anything bad about the son. But I have to admit, repeated shots of King Karl in the stands is probably going to have me rooting for the Gators or Frogs next week.

I caught them talking about how Karl is his Dad. Was pulling for LSU, but now I hope they get obliterated in the title series. Karl Hess should die of syphilis.

The AcC didn't ban the kid, they decided to away from Va Tech. Don't know his dad since I don't watch BB. The kid is a stud though

Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that the son was banned. When I said "can't play in the ACC" I meant that Karl the A-hole was so offended by the ACC's action that they went shopping for an offer in a different conference - one that doesn't fire officials for repeatedly getting into confrontations with fans and spewing a racial slur at at least one of them (one that was influential enough to get him canned).

Apparently in Karl's world, the Virginia Tech baseball program was somehow responsible for the ACC supervisor of basketball officials finally giving a pink slip to a total asshat who's been doing his best to get fired for years. Makes perfect sense, right?

We tailgated with a big group of LSU folk from Delcambre ...great people...fed us some pork jambalaya. Would love to spend a football Saturday in Baton Rouge from the way they described it....I think....didnt always catch everything they said due to the accent

Been lucky enough to attend night games in Batin Rouge over the years. Great fans, very hospitable and generous.
