Here is a full recap of Nebraska's weekly press conference on Monday afternoon, as the Huskers get ready for their final road game of the season this week at Wisconsin.

Quarterback Adrian Martinez

***Martinez said Nebraska lost some coaches they had developed strong relationships with, "and it was tough." But veteran leaders needed to step up and make sure the team stayed focused.

***Martinez said former quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco "meant everything to me" and was someone he would be close to for the rest of his life.

***Martinez said the last two games would be "about pride" for the Huskers. He said Wisconsin and Iowa were rivalry games and should be important no matter when they were played on the schedule.

***Martinez said Wisconsin was "maybe the best Big Ten defense" that didn't have many holes, but he also thought NU had some pieces they hadn't seen yet, including his mobility at quarterback.

***Martinez said new QB coach Steve Cooper had the respect of the players and had been around for a while, so there's a trust there as well.

***Martinez said it was still too early to say how the recent events with the program would impact his upcoming decision on whether to return in 2022 or move on.

***Martinez said Wisconsin's defense matched personnel really well and disguised pressures well. "They don't make many mistakes."

Tight end Austin Allen

***Allen said he used the bye week to recharge mentally as much as anything. He went deer hunting for the first time "in like seven years" because football had always filled up his schedule this time of year.

***Allen said he wasn't surprised at all that tight ends coach Sean Beckton was retained, and that Beckton had "picked up the intensity" in practice this week while trying to help the new assistants along.

***Allen said he was one of a handful of guys who had to decide whether or not to come back next year, but it would say a lot about that group with how they finished the season.

***Allen said finally beating Wisconsin and/or Iowa was "very important," and the Huskers had already talked about the feeling of running across the field and taking one of those rivalry trophies away from those teams.

***Allen said Wisconsin was "a very disciplined defense" that "didn't do anything crazy, but they're good at what they do."

***Allen said, "change is frustrating, but it happens in football." He said there were a lot of players that were "hungry" to get their shot.

***Allen said that Scott Frost getting assured he'd be back in 2022 was important for the players and they would continue to fight hard for him.

Defensive lineman Casey Rogers

***Rogers said Frost coming back "was a big sigh of relief" for him and that Frost "was building something really special. The culture is where it needs to be."

***Rogers said these last two games "were culture games" for Nebraska. Yes, they were trophy games, but they were also opportunities for the Huskers to show they hadn't quit and beat two good opponents.

"They're big games. This could change a lot."

***Rogers said NU "absolutely" could find motivation in ruining another team's season. They had one against Ohio State, and now they get another chance against Wisconsin and its push for a West title.

***Rogers said losing JoJo Domann was "huge," but said the defense had trust in the guys that would step up after him. He said the team was behind Domann's decision, and now it was the other guys' time to show what they could do.

Head coach Scott Frost

***Frost said the details on the "metrics" agreed upon in his new contract were "obvious" but he didn't want to go into specifics on what all they were.

***Frost said the team responded well after all of the coaching shakeups.

***Frost said Isaac Gifford would be the new No. 1 OLB to replace Domann, but they would be counting on several other players to step up and fill Domann's void in a variety of ways.

***Frost said Saturday would "be an ugly game, a Big Ten game," and Nebraska needed to be ready to battle.

***Frost said "everyone hits" on Wisconsin's defense and they were as physical and disciplined as any defense they'd face.

***Frost said Ron Brown has hit the ground running since taking back over as a full-time assistant. Frost said "it kind of took me back a little bit" to hear Brown yelling in practice again.

***Frost said these next two weeks would be a big challenge for the offense, and "I don't know if tempo is the answer" in these particular matchups. Sounds like NU might slow things down a bit against Wisconsin and Iowa.

***Frost said "I've got good people around me and we're getting through it" as he balances filling out a coaching staff, recruiting, and finishing off the season.

***Frost said Beckton has been a "huge part" of the game planning since last week's moves. He said Steve Cooper and Steven DeMeo had both helped as well.

***Frost said Cooper would be up in the box, where Brown and Verducci would be on the field.

***Frost said Chase Contreraz would still be the No. 1 kicker going forward.

***Frost said all four new of the interim full-time assistants were on the road recruiting last week.

***Frost said there wasn't much he could say to get the specialists out of their current slumps. He said just like golfers

***Frost said Deontai Williams was "progressing well" and had a good chance to return to the lineup this week.

***Frost said it would be a combination of guys after Rahmir Johnson at running back. He said he wouldn't be surprised if guys like Marvin Scott and Markese Stepp could have bigger roles this week.

***Frost said he didn't expect Sevion Morrison would likely not be back with the program, and he wasn't sure if he had entered the transfer portal yet. "Not everyone can play... We're going to lose some and get some back. That's just how it's going to be."

***Frost said there were some younger players he'd like to see get more reps these next two weeks, but it was still too early to say who those guys could be.
