Follow along here for live updates from Nebraska's weekly press conference this afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Players are scheduled to start meeting with reporters around 11:30 a.m. CT, and head coach Scott Frost is set to speak at around 12:30 p.m.

Pheldarius Payne is up

***Payne said he thought the team really responded well in Monday's practice. He said he was still "confused and shocked" about what happened at Illinois, but he was confident NU would get those mistakes corrected.

***Payne said he couldn't wait to play in front of fans at Memorial Stadium for the first time.

***As a team, Payne said the Huskers wanted to "make a statement" that they were better than what they showed at Illinois. "We've got to earn our respect at the end of the day."

***Payne said the OLBs played well vs. Illinois but could have been better. He said Caleb Tannor and Garrett Nelson "played great."

***That's all for Payne.

Wyatt Liewer is up

***Liewer said he "had a pretty good idea" he was going to start Saturday because of how well he'd played during fall camp.

***Liewer said the offense "never really established the run game early on... Which surprised me a little bit because I felt really good about our run game."

***Liewer said this week's game was a great opportunity to get some confidence back and "make a statement" with a strong performance.

***On the overthrow to him in the end zone, he said it's the receivers' job to "make the quarterback look good" and he should have made the play, though he admitted it was a tough ball to catch.

***Liewer said their performance at Illinois was "really surprising to me... But it's going to make it even better when we get this thing turned around."

***Liewer said Oliver Martin "could be a guy like that every game for us" after his solid performance at Illinois.

***Liewer said he "saw a lot of fight out of the guys today" at practice. The team turned off the music during practice to make the team have to create their own energy, and he felt like they did a good job doing that.

He said that was the first time he could remember that NU had not played music during practice.

***That's all for Liewer.

Samori Toure is up

***Toure said the offense "did alright. We definitely could have been a lot better."He thought the receivers made some plays and had great effort, but they needed to improve in some details.

***Toure said the details were things like proper spacing between receivers on routes, being in the right spots at the right times, and adjusting faster after the snap.

***Toure said his message to the younger receivers who didn't play as much, including Zavier Betts and Alante Brown, was to stick with it and keep working. He expected both of those guys to have bigger roles going forward.

***Toure said he thought Adrian Martinez "looked sharp" at Illinois. He said he put most of his passes where they needed to be despite facing pressure on a lot of his dropbacks.

***Toure said this team wasn't going to give up, and today's practice backed that up. "We're going to bounce back. We're not going to let one game decide our fate."

***That's all for Toure.

Ty Robinson is up

***Robinson the pass rush had been an emphasis all offseason and it was good to see it pay off early on at Illinois. He said it slowed down in the second half when Illinois went more run-heavy with quick drop passes.

***Robinson said the defense played Saturday the same way it had all camp, and now it was a matter to play at that level consistently all season.

***Robinson said on the first drive of the second half, Illinois "kind of took us for a ride." He said the Illini didn't do anything differently on that drive, they just executed well.

***That's all for Robinson.

Turner Corcoran is up

***Corcoran he "felt pretty good" in his first game after missing time in fall camp with an injury.

***Corcoran said Greg Austin's message to the o-line after the game was that they needed to focus on themselves more than their opponent sometimes. He said a lot of their problems came from guys not doing what they were supposed to do.

***Corcoran said he knew going in that Brant Banks would start at Illinois, and he was "totally fine" with that. Corcoran said he knew he would play early and often.

***Corcoran said some of the "details" he wants to personally improve were eye discipline in pass protection and also having his hands in the right spots before and after the snap.

***Corcoran said NU was "definitely prepared for a different front" from Illinois' defense, and the o-line "just needed to do better" in adjusting to things they didn't expect.

***Corcoran said the offensive line needed to get back to its mantra of "DEA: Details. Explosive. Anger."

***That's all for Corcoran.

Adrian Martinez is up

***Martinez said his thoughts of the Illinois game were similar to how he felt right after the game, as little mistakes kept the offense from ever getting going.

***Martinez said NU was approaching Fordham like any other game week. "We're going to go out there and play our hardest."

***Martinez said there were some "moments" where he played well and others where he wasn't good enough.

***Martinez said he "didn't put too much stock into" not having music in practice. He noticed it, but it wasn't something he thought about much.

***Martinez said last week's loss was over, and they still had an entire season ahead of them. They couldn't let that game ruin the whole year.

***Martinez said Nebraska's running game was "paving the way" early on, but the game turned and it changed how NU had to play offensively.

***Martinez said he loved having Mario Verduzco on the field on Saturday and it was great to have him on the sideline to talk with after drives.

***Martinez's message to fans after the loss was: "We're ready to play some football and have fun, and we're going to do that... Stick with us. We're going to give it our all every week."

***Martinez said he was excited to see Memorial Stadium "in full force" again this Saturday.

***That's all for Martinez.

Head coach Scott Frost is up

***Frost said watching film of the Illinois game didn't change his opinion much. He said he loved the effort but there were too many mistakes that cost them the game.

***Frost said they really wanted to hammer home the need to improve pass protection going forward. He said the overall play of the offensive line partly had to do with Illinois doing things defensively they didn't expect, but also the o-line needed to be better.

***Frost said both of NU's punters had been "doing exceptionally well" in practice, and he thought Daniel Cerni would do much better with a game of experience under his belt.

***Frost said Caleb Tannor's penalties might have been "bang-bang" but "he's got to be smarter and not drive the guy into the turf." Frost said that was likely what drew the foul.

***Frost said NU had every opportunity to be in command of the game but had too many critical mistakes that changed the course.

***Frost said he called the plays on Saturday. He said the whole staff collaborates on the game plan during the week, and "about half of our game plan was out the window" when Illinois played a four-man front.

***Frost said it wasn't very often when half a game plan was thrown out because of an opponent doing something different from what they expected.

***Frost said Gabe Ervin and Markese Stepp had the best week of preparation going into the game and deserved to play. He added that Rahmir Johnson played late because of his pass-blocking ability.

***Frost said Casey Rogers and Travis Vokolek were both "close" to returning to action.

***Frost said he didn't expect Saturday's atmosphere to be any different from any other Husker home game.

***Frost said NU needed to rotate at receiver more than they did at Illinois, but the guys that played in the game earned the right to be on the field.

"We've got enough talent there to keep fresh guys on the field," Frost said.

***Frost said the plan for Zavier Betts was to play him more and he expects Betts' reps to go up going forward.

***Frost said he hoped fans hadn't lost excitement about this team because of Saturday's loss. He hoped fans turned out in force on Saturday. "We need you there."

***Frost said Martinez made "some unbelievable throws" but also faced too much pressure in the pocket.

***Frost said Cam Taylor-Britt was still one of NU's best players and would continue to work at punt returner.

***That's all for Frost.
