List of visitors this weekend, pretty good list of prospects (updated 11/5, 2:51pm)

It's possible - and absolutely pathetic. Literally nobody deserves that. Not the current coaches nor the players.
I agree, it is one thing to boo professional athletes, but college kids that's even something I would never do. I have spewed a lot of hate at this staff for the last three or four weeks and for what, Coach and his staff will get another season, this has been ugly to watch, but like or not this is what we have for now. All fans should support the program, but some of us can dislike the hire. Just like the wars we are involved in right now, its ok not support war, but supporting our troops is right thing to do.

Re-read my posts.

I said people have every right to be very upset about the season, its very rational. I am upset.

The idea that we fire a first year coach without legal issues is without precedence anywhere in 130 years in CFB at a Power 5 school. That includes schools like Bama. As a side note, I could probably be ok with this but....

the manner in which we'd have to do it is very irrational. Because of the way the cards are laid out for us, the AD won't just make a call and send the coaches packing. That would be acceptable. The Chancellor is not going to wipe out the coaches or the AD. So we're left with the Regents wiping out at least a few people, some of whose primary jobs aren't even sports over a transition football season. Completely reactionary. Hell we had a dude post a moment ago that we shouldn't stop there, we should throw out the Regents. Regents are elected, and a whole other ball game than throwing out a few coaches because we're 3-6.

I think people are people, and these calls for ousting a coaching staff come during the game, or shortly after the game. Reactionary to me would be to actually take action on those statements. People get upset and say things. Where I believe we are different is that we will give him time. Hell, we gave that fiasco of a coach prior to him 7 years.

We need to realize that 15 years of growing discontent isn't necessarily based on one coaching regime, but the general direction of the program. What I'm saying is that Riley is not just getting critiqued on his coaching abilities, but is unfortunately being critiqued as a part of that 15 years.

I think a couple coaches have been fired after one season, but you are correct that it hasn't happened very often.

Why? He just unwilling to leave Cali? We will have to hit the Juco ranks hard to fill much needed gaps on the defensive side of the football?

He was always a long shot. And his mother is a Bruins fan. I would assume he sees no over riding reason to leave the state

That's what I figured, plus that one stud linebacker that declared early will open up one more spot on the roster.

Throwing out 130 years of CFB precedent because we're upset at being some what good and somewhat bad in the last 15 years is reactionary.

No two ways about it. Those 130 years of precedent include other prima donna fan bases used to winning at big time football schools. Schools and fans with less scruples than us about doing what it takes to win (say a Bama when they were down or whoever). The only thing you are indicating is that we are somehow more whiny than Bama fans.

We've been bad for 180 months, 12 more to see "what happens" isn't killing anyone. Who knows, we may even get better.

Well, actually it wouldn't be the first time in Nebraska's history that they fired and replaced a coach after one season. Alonzo Edwin Branch was the head coach for one year-won one game and was replaced the next season.

In Nebraska's history, they have had a head coach for only one year 7 different times. Most of the time they just left for other jobs. So roughly 5% of the time, Nebraska has had to replace a coach after one year.

At least someone did the digging, at least one case, if the others were moved on by choice.

You all realize future huskers read these posts if we continue to degrade the current staff we will never get better. Time say positive things in hopes we can get some big time players!

I know we have young talented DBs but who do you see generating a pass rush? Neal? Davis twins?
You're forgetting about another Davis... He is going to be that "Pass Rusher" you are looking for and no one mentions him, because he was an underrated 2* recruit

Rivals 100 DB Lamar Jackson added.

If you think this is awesome give me a Hell Yeah!

Whats the word on Josh Allen 4* JUCO DE that just re opened his recruitment? Sounds like we made a call already

Why would Michigan have a limit of EE's they could take? They can only count so many back, but they should be able to take as many as they want-as far as I know.
The key number is still 85. That number doesn't just apply to the season as you can only have 85 schollie players enrolled at a time at any point. We are a couple below that right now, there will likely be a couple guys transfer right after the season and a couple of the 5th year seniors don't need that last semester to graduate (4.5 years was enough)...to find more room than that they would have to start telling true seniors (or rs jrs who will not be getting a 5th) that they don't get a full four years to graduate. Let's just say setting a present like that (giving kids only 3.5 years to graduate) is not one you want to set...so yes...There is a limit to how many mid year guys we can take.

And HTO....Davis is a rb...this is not an opinion on what his best position might be but he has made it clear that if a school wants him a as a FB he is not interested.
