Least favorite position coach

How would you rate these qualities of a position coach?

Recruiting skills
Ability to teach concepts to players
Familiarity/adaptability with schemes
High school and college coaching connections
I think you flip 3 and 4 around. The most important job of a position coach is recruiting.the schemes are up to the OC and DC.

A high school principal I knew told me when he was interviewing teachers for jobs, he didn't care how much they knew the subject. They can learn the subject matter as they teach. It was more important that a teacher have good classroom management skills. Classroom management is more intuitive and is essential to being a good teacher.

I don't completely agree with this, but I see his point. Some of the guys mentioned on this thread probably knew a lot about technique and schemes, but did a poor job of teaching it to players.

I actually couldn’t stand Keith Williams, I get he produced, just didn’t like his demeanor, I believe the hoodrats call it “swag”
If you would’ve had a chance to meet the guy you wouldn’t say that, yeah he had a hell of a scowl but loved it in Nebraska and loved talking about football and his family. He was really hoping for a call from Frost after he moved on from Troy Edwards.

Rick Kaczenski

Mario Verduzco

Erik Chinander

Was never a fan of Langsdorf or Papuchis

Papuchis was very young when Bo brought him from LSU had no business being a DC.was and Still is a good P5 position coach (DE at FSU currently).

Yeah, that was my problem with him. Not really ready for the position and subsequently no help with adjustments whenever we were getting boat raced.
