It took a little longer than normal, but they are back home. No miracles in 2017!

Meh. All of these teams are trying to out-suck each other. Cincy had a win streak and promptly got swept in back 2 back series. They deserve everything they got. But give it another week or two and the rest of this sucktastic division could out-suck the Reds. WTF is wrong with the Cubs? They are built for a dynasty, but are doing what the Royals did after they won it all.

Only 5 games back...

This year the central league teams are down like they were 10 to 15 years ago. All playing around .500 baseball.

I am not feeling great about the Cubs chances of finishing first unless they start playing better.

Cubs really miss Fowler at the top of the line-up. They obviously have no one to bat first in that line-up. When Madden is experimenting by batting Rizzo lead-off, that is a sign of trouble. Someone forgot to tell this team that trying to hit a homerun in every at bat is bad. They forgot how to hit the ball in gaps and down the line.

Also their pitching is way down. Arrieta fell back down to earth, back to the guy he was with the O's and Hendricks on the DL. This staff was due for some injuries after the good luck bug they had last year.

As for the Cards, does anyone really scare you in that line-up? I like Fowler & Carpenter. They are key parts but not the main course. Plus Matheny has them batting backwards. Fowler is a lead-off & Carpenter is a 2 hitter not vice-versa!!! Oh may be the worst closer in the game

So hey, Cincy is not done yet. TwinsRRUs may have been joking but 4 games back in the loss column, there is a chance here. Homer Bailey & Brandon Finnegan are coming back, that's their #1 & #2 SPs. No one else in this division is getting that big of a shot in the arm, as the Reds are. The bats are there. Iglesias is a beast of a closer. It really isn't over for these guys.

Anyone can win this division. It's about the only division in baseball that we can say that about.

I agree completely.

Very good assessment of each team btw.

The Reds definitely have a good a chance as any of the other teams in the division for sure.

Hey, at least they're not in the NL East: they'd be 10.5 games back then. And battling the Mets, the Marlins and the Braves for 5th place.

do we have the worst manager in baseball??????

I KNOW I I KNOW.....I wanted DUSTY gone.....

Reds have lost 9 in a row now and were 7 1/2 games back.

What about the AL Central? Royals creeping back into it.

Only 6 in the loss column but your right, this weekends sweep hurt badly. I get losing @ SD & @ LA, those are pitchers parks & until Bailey & Finnegan, Reds are not going to win any 2-1 ball games. But they didnt hit @ home this weekend (except for yesterday) and that's troubling.

I think every team in the AL Central has been in first at one point this season. KC certainly has the experience. Vargas is having a career year. Kennedy pitching better, Jason Hammel pitching much better. ALEX is finally getting on base again. His OPS & SLG are double in June vs May & APR. Getting Duffy back & Alex hitting are the keys to KC's success. Cleveland is too dam loaded IMO, I could see KC getting a WC spot, I just don't believe anyone can take down the Tribe there. Not saying I am right, just saying how I see it
