Feel bad for the guy......but you trusted Lane Kiffin???
Wow, the dude quit his job, moved there, showed up for work only to be told someone else was hired. Kiffin is always going beyond my expectations.
Maybe Lane told him "There was this guy hired here a few years ago named Carl and if he passed his background check then anyone will"
I seriously doubt that WR prospect was a hot enough commodity that Lane needed this guys help to the point he would purposely screw over this guy and his entire family just to get one WR to sign. I know it's easy to hate Lane, and as much as I feel bad for this coach, and I do because it sucks, I don't really think Lane did anything wrong here. Background checks are kinda out of the football coaches hand I'd think, especially after the previous guys (Carl) transgressions. It's very possible they wouldn't have cared about the background prior to Carl.
The only thing that I wonder about is that the guy apparently revealed his misdemeanors to the university and should not have been ignored.
Maybe it takes time to respond, I don't know, but it is convenient that he was told no after his son signed on the dotted line and he and his wife quit their jobs, sold their home and moved to the area, only then to find out he wasn't going to be hired after all. I don't think this was necessarily Kiffin's fault, but the University did him no favors by waiting.
Were this the first or second time something questionable came up surrounding Lane Kiffen, I would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. His father was well liked here, and successful.
This, however, just seems to be more of the sleazy scumbag events that continue to crop up anywhere he is.
By now I tend to believe anyone in an issue with Kiffen but Kiffen himself.
Sad that his father was one of ours.....not that his father did anything to create this ego filled douche-bag.
