Well I don't think anyone hates the past, besides 2002-2014. Even then, it's not that they wouldn't embrace a majority of those players as coaches, if proven.

I think you are confused with people being brought up for a job that is way out of their league at the time, just because they played or coached here.

Can anyone comment on whether they are running the hyper-speed Oregon offense, passing much, running, etc.? Just curious as to the system he's implementing as I do believe he is Nebraska's next head coach and would love for him to have some nice success - also not a bad thing to build up some good relationships with Florida high school coaches.

That's what I feared. I frankly think the Oregon offense is built to catch people off-guard, but not last for big-time opponents.

I also think it fails miserably when considering the balance of rest your defense needs in big games.

Could it be that he is simply building and offense with the materias he has? Lot of speed in Florida. He might not run the same offense in another area.

What board do you think your on; and spray painting isn't going to get you many masterpieces. Large band of fans here watching and rooting for him - and I don't think he will be back ( are we really that irresistible ?).
...... He had a great plan if he would have been the right guy to those in charge; believe they felt it was early. And he has a great plan where he is at; and he gets it !!!

Scott sees talent all around him; he wants character to build on, an easy numbers game for him.... His record this year will include near misses. Early on this year, they lost by a big score at Michigan - Scott was unbowed; stating bluntly, that statistically he felt they had won the battles among the lines - pretty defiant in what he sees coming in his vision. He has a plan; he would have been very inspiring here - there was a plan for the hire here, and it involved recruiting and a lot of NFL contacts ( also working well ). As many here are saying, top reason was timing - you can debate the lesser from there ! GBR

I don't know Oregon had a pretty impressive run and even played for a NC, Auburn too.

That Auburn offense is quite different. Oregon is very finesse with it, Auburn on the other hand runs a very physical style with a lot of inside runs or power plays.

I would not mind seeing him coach here, when and if he shows he is capable. But I certainly don't have my heart set him coming here and those who do may find themselves disappointed. Total speculation on my part, but I've never got the feeling that he really has a burning desire to come back. Remember, he spurned us once and only came back because Bill Walsh retired. I always got the sense too that he was much more interested in playing for Tom Osborne than he was playing for his home state. I think people would be better off keeping their minds open rather than expecting him to end up here and being disappointed if it doesn't happen for whatever reason. This program's future success does not ride on whether or not Scott Frost ever coaches here.

PAC-12 and BIG Ten are about equal strength.
Recruiting is mostly equal and what he does in Florida will pay dividends wherever he goes.
Facilities are great at both places.

Nebraska and Oregon aren't the only schools that can provide what he needs to find success.

I agree with this... previous post was that he would go where he has the best chance to win and Nebraska isn't the place you think he will go, which caused me to wonder...

If he doesn't go to Nebraska do you think it is because Nebraska didn't ask? It seems to me that would be the only reason he wouldn't go to Nebraska. I could be wrong of course...

IF Frost turns around UCF and gets to be in the position that Hermann is in ... where he is in the top 3 available coaches ... where he goes is going to be determined, in large part, on timing .... if he is a top candidate and a marque program is looking for a head coach ... Texas, OU, Georgia, Alabama, USC, UCLA etc ... then he takes that job and he likely finishes his career there if he continues to have success. Very low chance that if he is already at a high profile program that he would leave to go to Nebraska when the NU job is open. I don't think he would even leave Oregon, as the head coach, to come to Nebraska. The only way I see him at Nebraska is if all the stars align ... he has a great deal of success at UCF and when he is ready to move on the NU job is open

Riley is 63. He might coach into his '70's but I doubt it.
