UCLA home opener and the stadium is 1/2 full. How do they get guys like Darney Holmes to go there. Our game day atmosphere is second to none. Just boggles my mind. Guess sunny California is just more important.

What % of the time does does a football player spend in the stadium on game days versus other time on campus or surrounding area?

90+++% of their time is spent in endeavors outside of the game day atmosphere. There is your answer

There is also so much more to do in southern California. In Nebraska, it's the only game in town.

Well today we also have fires near Pasadena so there is that ...He has a girlfriend that is a Junior in high school that might have had something to do with it

Besides going to the beach what else is "so much more to do" in Cali. Lincoln is a awesome college town with plenty to do and from what I noticed yesterday, plenty of pretty ladies as well.

Ummmm I can name a few. Weather, beaches, girlfriend, UCLA is in Beverly Hills, weather and weather. You can play football year round outside.

I will say that Lincoln is getting better at creating events with Pinnacle Bank Arena, the renovation of the Railyard and Haymarket district and making it more appealing.

The one thing that Nebraska does have over California (specifically Los Angeles) is, generally speaking, not as many fake people. There is lot of pretentiousness in Los Angeles and yes it's generalizing a population but I think Riley is selling recruits on the family atmosphere and the fact that they might get lost in a big city and can thrive in a smaller environment like Lincoln and be a star in the state of Nebraska (and our fan base).

You can't get a proper earthquake in the Lincoln area. Although they do have Runzas.

we upgraded our cheerleaders, for a time they looked like east germans,
still I think ucla has the more dominate cheerleading history

If you get tired of the beach/palm tree/ocean thing you can run up into the mountains for the day and take in the fireplace/alpine scene with some skiing at Big Bear. Or go to the desert and blow up a four wheeler. Then think of the sky on a midwestern winter day (at ND the kids call the sky 'Perma Gray' - they have on campus tanning booths) when the snow is piled up and soot black and your car looks like a Russian assault vehicle and your a** is frozen shut. 'California dreaming' We do have great people in the midwest though, in my opinion the best overall.

I'd consider USC just for the song girls, unreal. I first noticed them in 2007 when I was in high school when we played them in LA.

I believe statistics bear out that most recruits stay closer to home. States like California, Texas & Florida, with larger talent pools, have inherent recruiting advantages.

Just stop already. California has beautiful weather year round. Low humidity, mild temps, beautifully fit women, the beach, the mountains, etc.. If you've ever driven on Pacific Coast Highway for more than 50 feet, you understand the reason why kids stay in California. Between Colorado and California, they are the two most beautiful states in the country.

Nebraska born and raised.

Loved my time in Cali. Cost of living (which is essentially a push for a scholarship athlete in a dorm) is the biggest difference and Cali's much more fun in your early 20's then in your early 30's.
