Junior College players

Weather it is the staff or admissions, which is implicated in the article, it need changed. We cannot miss opportunities to upgrade our talent like this.

Admissions stated there hasn't been any changes. IMO it is just another miss on the part of the staff or SE didn't want JUCOs. And even if it were SE MR needs grow balls and stand up for the program.

Definitely not on the staff. Past history will tell you that Riley hit up jucos. Somebody f*cked the staff pretty hard by frowning on the jucos as Nebraska desperately needed some the last couple yers.

Exactly, I heard the same thing with how MR handled discipline. Who gives a **** what SE wants? Discipline your players so that you can put a good product on the field.

All Riley heard was how pissed people were that Callahan took so many JUCOs. He mistakenly thought he would get 4-5 years to build a consistent winner with his own high school recruits.

Sure, but I believe someone all but told the staff to stay away from jucos. Who that is, would be the question.

In Riley's defense, he never had enough scholarship space.

Really, when did he tell you that?

Because if Riley was stupid enough to think that he had 4-5 years to build a consistent winner than he is a complete idiot. What is his definition of a consistent winner? The expectations were pretty clear. I can quote you from the guy that hired him if you like.

Anybody thinking that there was no urgency to improve on 9 win seasons is a complete idiot.

As the guy that fired the last coach said:

"At the end of the day, I think we have kids in our program that are capable of winning championships.”

So, maybe you are stupid enough to think that a losing season in his first year was acceptable, backed up by the crapstorm we have seen since. But, nobody else should have been this stupid especially the coach that was hired by the guy that also said:

"I am not going to lower our standards, and I don’t think Nebraskan’s want that."
and
"I think we are positioned to play championship-caliber football here at the University of Nebraska."

But please continue and pretend that you and Riley didn't know the expectations at Nebraska..

You want a coach who misjudged the situation that badly? You trust him to use good judgment to make decisions to build a successful program?
