Job opening for those interested

Well posting the opening on this board is very appropriate. There are several posters here who know football so much better than any active coaches out there (or at least they think so and keep telling us so). I know it would be a huge loss for this board but I'd really, really love to see Iowa hire one of them! :)

About 20 years ago the NU AD posted a tech position for which I was vaguely qualified. I talked to my boss, and even got glowing letters of recommendation from him as well as our director. I carefully crafted a resume targeting the specific job skills listed in the posting, and submitted my application.

They hired a guy from the Carolina Panthers. Turns out I wasn't vaguely qualified.

Anyone is an improvement over what they currently have, I suspect with the new AD breathing down Kirk's neck the hire will be a homerun. If Iowa can get an offense that scores 30 pts a game lookout here comes the playoffs.
25 years of Iowa under Ferentz = 1 year of Nebraska's new regime.
Iowa has never really gotten close other than 2015.

Yeah, you generally don't get hired in college athletics unless you personally know the person making the hiring decision. Or you know someone who owes someone a favor. Or you're willing to start as an unpaid intern and work your way up.

I could apply for the job. I have no coaching experience at all. However, it's like I always say, coaching isn't rocket science and even if it was I'd figure that shit out too.
And I still be able to post daily on this board. 👍

Are Iowa fans still happy they railroaded the current guy?

There are some pelini parallels there considering the no context win column

I saw a tweet this morning suggesting that a good fit for the job would be Frost. Will. not. happen.

After the fact I had a pretty good laugh at my own naivete.

Unfortunately, I couldn't sabotage them any worse than the previous guy.

You have my attention. The parallels are?
Wins a lot

Loses every time it matters in embarrassing fashion

Doesn’t get better, doesn’t get worse, has a hard time in the court of public opinion

might be ironically really hard to replace
