Jerry finally whacks MM-Prime to the Boys?

My dream scenario would be Jerry hiring Deion and then trading away 3 first round picks and some 2nd round picks to move up to draft Shadeur no.1 overall. Deion would do it not just to coach his son but to feed his ego that his son went no.1 overall. The QB controversy, cap situation, and lack of future draft picks would ensure the Cowboys suck for at least the next five years and I would be able to sit back and enjoy every minute of it.

Only problem is the ka-ching for the Sanders clan

You should look into better wet dreams, but whatever gets you going.

In a lot of ways, Jerry Jones reminds me of Marge Schott who owned the Reds a few decades ago. Just seems like he doesn't have a clue at times
I always wonder if they are fans first or if they just think they are the smarted guy in the room.

If I owned a team, I am pretty sure I would be like a Jerry Jones type and more than likely it would not work out well. I think I would have a hard time treating it like a business where as the owner you hire a guy under you that you trust and he hires the guy under him and so on.

Yep, have to admit I’d structure my position with the team pretty much exactly like Jerry has. Only difference is I’d have a hell of an advisory committee

Yeah I could see doing it that way.

At that point, you are so rich you can do anything you want, it would be really hard to NOT want to do it your own way.

Jerry’s problem IMO is he is to big of a fan of certain players and it affects his judgement on the salaries he pays. Zeke Elliott and Dak are perfect examples Zeke was down in Cabo with no contract and no team within 100 yds of giving him one. But Jerry flew down and gave him some outrageous one . Same with Dak .I remember watching a deal with Mark Cuban and he actually was talking about he is a fan of every player he signs but it’s business first and you have to separate it . I don’t think Jerry can do that with certain players.

The last 2 Zeke deals damaged the team in so many ways. And the last one was just a 1 year deal. Pretty fascinating.

Is it Jerry's love of the certain player, or his love of his own ego though? Not sure Jerry didn't do the Dak deal purely to be able to say he signed the highest paid player in the NFL. And I think I remember when he signed Zeke the first time that Zeke was the #1 selling Cowboys jersey, and that'a a big part of why he did that deal.

I think Jerry measures his success based on crap like that, not actual wins and losses. In his mind, if he's getting all the headlines (which he always is) and staying on top of that 'Forbes Most Valuable Sports Franchise' list (which he always is), he's winning.

This whole firing McCarthy, talking to Deion stuff is more of the same. Went from missing the playoffs and nobody's talking about him to lead sports story with every major network in the snap of a finger. He's back winning again...at least in his mind.

I'm not convinced the Matrix would be able to withstand the sheer amount of hilarity that would ensue if that were to happen

Getting Dak off the roster would actually be one of the better moves he's made. The guy melts down under pressure, and is now an annual injury concern. Get what you can get for him while you can still sucker someone into it.
If by chance they do draft Sheadur S, it would be worse. He'd rather take a 20 yard sack than throw the ball away and make his passing stats look bad.

McCarthy might be the luckiest coach in the NFL. He’ll get a fresh start and millions to do a rebuild somewhere.

I don't think MM sucks but I don't think he's elite either. If I were him i'd consider going fishing for a year and wait for better jobs to come open. I thought the Bears job would be a good one but even their fans seem to be pretty down on them because of owner/management.

“To hear from Jerry”. LOL. It was reported yesterday that Deion called Jerry shortly after the McCarthy news broke.

Who "reported" that?

Either way, I'm starting to think they're both just trying to maximize the hype from this and there's no real possibility of it actually happening. But again, as has been stated over and over, you never know with Jerry Jones.
